epatrick, he would have two years. I read that he was at a school in Bklyn for one year and in Utah for one year.

A source indicates that this may not be a completely done deal. He is at Eastern Utah CC and their summer session doesn't end until July 30. May have to wait till then for 100% confirmation. But it's pretty close to done.

If this kid is as good as his press clippings, it is a great signing. He has the size and strength to help on the boards and is a scorer. Really couldn't ask for more at this point.

Stealing a phrase from a great film......
As our MAAC opponents fans look from high in the stands down at our players in the valley of the court, I can hear them now...
"Who are those guys".
Go Gaels!!!!!

I'm surprised nobody is sounding the alarms about 2 JC players. I certainly like the talent but some many have posted on this board about the potential problems.

I'm sure almost everyone would like talented freshman who would contribute and play for four year.
But, we lost:
- 2 seniors to graduation
- 2 verbals each of whom sounded good
- 2 (maybe 3) transfers
Considering that most high school players were spoken for when the new coach was hired, what options were there to recruit players who could help the team right away?
It will be interesting to see how everything works out.

ichoops, why are you posting? Mike Glover is a top 50 JUCO.

I feel a technical post, such as it has to be a top 50 high school recruit, coming

Agree with the above comments abusing ICHoops. :-D
New coaching staff always results in roster turnover, and we had two ships to fill even before the staff turned over. Losing the previous verbals hurts, but it's not a shock considering the entire staff was replaced.
Given the amount of time we had, the pressing need we had at the PF position, and the fact that the team's GPA was like 3 last year, I'm not too worried about taking a chance on Glover. In fact, given the elements I listed, landing a player of this quality under those circumstances is an outright home run.
Iona entered this offseason needing to land a low-post warrior type and a pure scorer. The staff added both, in Glover and Armand. Rave reviews for this staff so far!

Indeed he is a warrior ,which I dont think the maac has seen in awhile at his size. Although hayseed nation might disagree. I hope that his grades are in order at the end of the month and stay that way. For sure he puts us in the forefront of the maac.Great get for the staff

Armand & Glover this late in the process is truly amazing. I hate to say it again but the team is now better than what Willard would have returned, even with another player transferring.
I also get the feeling that this staff doesn't think of themselves of a mid major that can only get a mid major recruit. They will take a chance and try to steal a major recruit. Willard only thought of Iona as a mid major and never would even try for someone higher. I like what I see so far.
