As it should. Just an out-of-the-box thought of a way to spread a small fraction of that money around at a more personal level. In addition to the disease itself, many families of kids battling cancer battle financial hardships from the medical bills. Unfortunately, I know this first-hand. +1000. No disrespect to the V Foundation, as that has become the most prominent cancer research foundation in the country. However, there are foundations right in our bakyard that are much more hands-on and impactful in a roll-up-your-sleeves way to the families that you reference above CJB. www.alsangels.org/ |

V Foundation event originally scheduled for May was postponed to Sept.4. It has now been redesignated as a virtual event on that date. Vitale maintains his lofty goal of $5 million this year and had been able to get substantial support from a local entrepreneur and Mark Cuban. 100% of proceeds go to pediatric cancer research. 100% of all donations to the foundation goes to research. Record-breaking $7.3 million at this year's virtual event. $37 million in 14 years. Some suggesting maintaining this as a virtual event to maximize $$. First time with no mention of Iona!  |

Super, did you make it to the V Foundation Gala last week in Sarasota? Once again my wife and I assisted with the event. Attendance limited to 50% capacity. Still raised $6.5 million. Kids currently with cancer and survivors just break your heart. All funds go to pediatric cancer research. No mention or photos of V’s Iona stint. Also, no Iona presence. (Abatemarco listed-did not see him.) Grasso was a regular. Wish we could somehow coordinate. |

Sorry Greg! Been distracted with family illness.
Unbelievable event last night, raising an incredible $11.1 million for pediatric cancer research.
Finally had Iona participation with RP and Tom A in attendance with program photo taken in front of Iona banner. Dick also mentioned that RP was at Iona, defeated Alabama, was preceded at Iona by V years ago. (That surprised many.)
Vitale is so wonderful about this event. Year 13 for us!

Forgit to mention That Chris Evert, who is being treated for cancer, was also homored. Her comments were among the best we;ve heard over th years.
