We are looking forward to our 15th year of involvemnt In Dick Vitale's gala to raise funds for the V Foundation ( Pediatrics) on May3. THE HONOREES WILL BE: Derek Jeter, Baseball Hall of Fame Jeff Gordon, NASCAR Hall of Fame Rick Barnes, Tennessee Men’s Head Basketball Coach The John Saunders Courage Award will go, posthumously, to Nikki McCray, Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. The Dick Vitale Spirit Award will go to Jim Kelly, Pro Football Hall of Fame. We spent some time alone with Dick last evening--it was difficult for us. He can barely speak, but he is committed to this event. I fear that this will be the last gala in which he will be able to meaningfully participate. (Last year he raised $12.4 million.)
