So, on average, we were a little better, but Vermont did more with their opportunities, with some nice OOC wins as well as of course a couple wins in the NCAAs. So, all told, the COUNTRY would say they've done more because those wins carry more weight than a good record or computer ranking, but in reality it's pretty close overall.
They aren't so much better than us to strive to be them
Generally agree. They've just had more success OOC.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.
When was the last time that Vermont changed coaches? Names like Brennan and Lonergan ring a bell, but I don't know the years that they coached Vermont. A big difference during the past four years.

Depends on how you interpret it, Vermont has won 20+ games 12 years in a row. Vermont is also 59-5 conference record past 4 years. I want that for iona.

should we change this thread to Vermont Basketball? Who cares ? Really we just upgraded this program with a recruiting class, the best Iona has seen in 40 years and we are talking about Vermont Basketballl that plays in a conference that until this year was so inferior to the MAAC

If you're going to lecture others on what direction threads can take during a fucking pandemic, have the common sense to NOT anoint a recruiting class as the best in 40 years when not one of them have even stepped on campus yet.

By proclaiming this recruiting class as the best in years, we are just repeating last year’s mistake. This group doesn’t have any can’t misses yet, let’s wait and see. The highest rated player out of high school on the roster is Isiah Washington, and its not close. Lots of athletes with potential, and some good offers, but not one of these guys is a guaranteed starter.
