We insist that you go to every remaining game. No excuses! Maybe the team and Arnold are finally figuring things out. They sure played that way. Ross and Van E stepping up their play makes a huge difference. I will try to go to more but I will watch all and my spirit shall flow though my brother Gaels and we shall act as a mighty wave that will wash over the just and unjust alike. JUST like that?

Third game I’ve been to, exhibition, Quinny, today. Gaëls 3-0 and blowouts. Again, don’t know what you guys have been bitching about. Haven’t seen any other games. With this knowledge you better take me up on my offer. Nice meeting you today.

Missed today's game(went to Met-Life to see NY Guardians beat the Tampa Vipers), but watched on espn+ replay. Crawford, Van Eck, and Ross were great. Agee played under control, seemed like less To's for him today. It also seems like the team is putting a good defensive effort. I think Jelly will have a great senior year for us(If we get some good scorers to play with him). He seems to be getting into the flow of things. Right now the goal is to avoid the PIG.

Great game and team looks better. This is the team I was hoping to see all season long as the pieces were there. If any of you were in the chatroom, you would've heard my thoughts.
In sum of those comments:
1) IW looks much more comfortable and running the point more effectively. Much more confident and looking for Ross on fastbreaks because he knows he's a deadly shooter so trying to get him the ball for as many chances as possible. 2) Van Eyck coming into his own. Doing small things to help win. His physicality down low and energy is really important. His length is the key factor on the defensive side of the ball altering shot attempts. 3) Agee is Agee. Still timid to shoot the 3, but I forecast him shooting it more in the upcoming games. 4) Cashaw has lodged some real good time off the bench defensively. Also, a very intelligent game controller. Turning out to be a good pickup. 5) Crawford is playing well. No more need to say as he's playing with tons of heart and it's a pleasure watching him play. 6) Nik is a bruiser and he keeps pushing and beating up bigs on the other team effectively. He's tiring them out at the end of the game where they have no legs. Still a liability on pick and roll defense. 7) Perez hit a 3 finally. 8) Ross is really the only pure shooter in my opinion on the team. He also finds good spots on the floor to get his shot off.
Team Summary:
1) Team is starting to play together with much more confidence. IW leading the way on the offensive side of the ball controlling the tempo is important for this 2 game stretch. He makes a lot of smart decisions on fastbreaks by pulling the ball out and controlling the offense. He still makes some petty mistakes, but overall a pleasant surprise.
2) Defense and energy looks amazing these past 2 games. On multiple plays, players are diving for balls and filling in on defensive help. Some of today's plays were the cause of good defensive possessions where we got some easy baskets on run-outs.
3) We are finally not bombing 3's every possession. We're making the extra pass on the offensive side of the ball to open layups and shots.
3) Took a while until this point, but the team is forming now. You've players who know their roles and other players who are confident in their ability. Finally "Jellying" together and team has shown heart these last two games.
Let's hope the momentum continues and we go on a tear.

Ross with 16 & 23 over the weekend. (Big difference in our offense when the 3s fall) Team held Kelly to 8 and Taliaferro to 5. (Another big difference)

Complete opposite of what we just played, as Fairfield generally defends well but sucks offensively. Just bring the defense. The rest will fall into place. Defense dominant. Triggering the offense. Energy level through the roof. Agree that our defense has been better, but think the improvement in our offense is why we have won the last two games. Don't know what they (FF) are averaging over the season but do know that FF isn't a good offensive team. And they shot 36%, yesterday, but our shooting (57%) was off the charts. Ross is the BIG surprise for me. Didn't realize that he was this good a deep shooter, thinking of him as a slasher.

Did Iona just flip the switch this weekend? Much like last year out of nowhere this team looks completely different. Is the key to a Cluess run team just shortening the rotation, maybe that's the problem in OOC play? These guys are playing defense and sharing the ball much better. Ross is looking like the streaky 3 point shooter we desperately needed. Crawford looks like he is now on a mission, and Agee despite some bonehead plays every game, is still one of the best big men in the league. And Perez finally hit a 3 today! One game at a time but this weekend gave us all a whole new outlook on the remainder of the season. Things have gotten a lot more interesting! IW really coming on and feeling comfortable. Crazy that happened after he became PG

Incredible turnaround from last week. Guys playing as expected. Van Eyck played very well this weekend, just what his video and JUCO stats suggested. 11 rebounds 2 steals 2 assists, with solid defense. played D on Taliaferro most of the game holding him to 1-7 from three. Have to assume Thiam was out injured all week. Risto was out there warming up and stretching so have no idea what the story is with him, just amazing he didn't get in if not injured. I get the entire shortening the rotation at this time of the year, but will need some contribution from the bench. What a great weekend, didn't see this coming We did get minutes from the bench nic and cashew got 10 minutes we and maybe we got Perez back today Why the infatuation with Risto? We won 2 games with 3 guys not playing and we played great D, do you think coincidence or the coaches know something

Why No Risto in garbage time? Like I've said all year must earn it in practice

With that said, are you concerned that the core 5 will experience burnout or excess fatigue due to playing 36-40 mins per game? I know this has been the pattern of prior Iona teams but I view this squad as a more “by committee” type team. Nope. We sprinkle enough of the others. That said, it's a must to get a top 5 seed. +1000

Just to piss off Guy The road to the MAAC 🏆 still goes through New England, I mean New Rochelle
Guys have said team played with a low basketball IQ, we have changed the rotations and started winning, why do people ask for the guys taken out of the rotation to play? Less it's and D is how we will be 5x champs, If it's fixed don't break it.

My point was I can't believe he can't even get into a game with 2 minutes left up 25. So no. There is no infatuation with Risto. Just surprised how far backwards his game has gone. Starting Friday night Iona plays 4 games in 8 days. Not sure how sustainable it is playing 5 guys 35+ minutes a game. Throw in the fact that a few of the guys are foul prone, in my opinion, there will probably be a game or two where Iona will need more than Nikolic and Cashaw if there will be a serious run to avoid the PIG. Arnold has had to take the chance of playing guys decent minutes with 2 fouls in the 1st half and so far dodged the bullet.
