As far as the MAAC/ Iona are concerned, student- athletes can apply for a waiver for medical/religious reasons, but would be required to be constantly tested. So I don't see any athletes losing their scholarships.
Also read that there will not be any rescheduling of games due to Covid. If a team doesn't have enough players to compete they would forfeit the game.

A recent study (link above) appears to link the Lambda variant with resistance to vaccines. It is spreading in South America at an alarming rate, yet our public servants care so much about our health, that they maintain an open border policy, releasing Covid infected illegal immigrants into the general population.

There is no open border, that is a well debunked myth. The Biden administration even kept in place the Trump administration’s Title 42, which permits the Border Patrol to expel/deny entry to migrants, including families, due the Covid health crisis. This happens thousands of times a month by the way. Apprehension rates at the border are soaring for two reasons, more people are trying and more people are trying multiple times after being expelled. Migrants in custody are tested for Covid repeatedly. If found positive they are sent to local hospital systems for treatment. The Covid data for counties and towns along the border do not show elevated rates of Covid.
Lots of misinformation is being pushed to distract Americans from what’s going on in this country. Covid rates in the US are exploding because far too many Americans are not vaccinated and refuse to wear a mask.
Pretty simple solutions. Blaming immigrants won’t solve this problem.

Covid rates are exploding among those that are vaccinated and wear masks also. Blaming those that havent vaccinated wont solve this problem.

The U.S. Border Patrol reported nearly 180,000 encounters with migrants along the U.S.-Mexico border in June, the highest monthly total in more than two decades. As for Title 42, you can keep anything in place but if you don't enforce it as often...
From Pew:
Encounters refer to two distinct kinds of events: apprehensions, in which migrants are taken into custody in the United States to await adjudication, and expulsions, in which migrants are immediately expelled to their home country or last country of transit without being held in U.S. custody.
President Donald Trump’s administration invoked Title 42 in March 2020, arguing that it would slow the domestic spread of the coronavirus by expelling migrants rather than holding them in close quarters in U.S. immigration facilities. Between April 2020 and the end of the Trump administration, more than 80% of monthly migrant encounters at the southwestern border resulted in expulsion rather than apprehension. Expulsions have become less common – and apprehensions more common – in the first months of President Joe Biden’s administration. In June, 58% of migrant encounters resulted in expulsion, down from 83% in January, when Biden took office. During the same period, the share of migrant encounters that resulted in apprehension rose from 17% to 42%. Most of these people are economic refugees... not families with children as the administration likes to frame it. Single adults accounted for 64% of migrant encounters in June, up from 28% in May 2019, while people traveling in families represented 28%, down from 64%. The share of encounters involving unaccompanied minors was largely unchanged (8% in June vs. 9% in May 2019).
Remember, these are only the people who get caught... think of how many more there are that illegally enter the country and never are included in the cases of those infected. Or do you think that not securing the borders is a good thing and allowing people infected with covid is going to help reduce the spread?
If you are not worried about the Feds releasing 7,000 confirmed COVID-19 positive illegal immigrants into a single border city, I really don't think you should be very concerned about unvaccinated citizens walking past you at Hynes.

I’m going to rely on the CDC (especially for Covid testing and Covid hospitalizations in the border counties) and the Border Patrol numbers for data. And the numbers you are talking about, even if they wer acvurate, aren’t even a rounding error in terms of the US population. This is a red herring.

Rather like focusing on putting out a fire in your detached tool shed while your house is burning down. Pure political BS.
I don’t like Mitch McConnell on a number of issues, but I give him credit for telling the truth about Covid vaccines and masking; they are effective at protecting against getting Covid, avoiding hospitalization if you are infected, and avoiding spreading infection. If only more people in the Trump party were willing to tell the truth and stop spreading any-government misinformation.

Didn't the CDC just admit that their numbers regarding new covid cases in Florida were inaccurate? Most of these numbers are from the border patrol. But I will mark you down for supporting releasing covid infected illegal immigrants into the general population as a great way to reduce the impact of covid on the general public. I think that such a display of common sense speaks for itself.

Mark me down for having common sense and not allowing myself to be mislead by others, or by ideology.
I doubt it. Also, there could be regional differences in efficacy as well; national data are more telling.
[br Decent sample size 25k out of Minnesota, also some UK stats out there, most compelling data to me would be death rates of vaccinated vs unvaccinated. Both numbers are extremely low, 99.9 etc, but it seems the unvaccinated are higher. That to me is something i will be watching closely.
