Maybe just agree to disagree?
I'm on the side of getting vaccinated because I believe in the science. But I know a ton of very bright people who simply refuse it all for a variety of reasons, from a perceived lack of science to political motivations. I barely look at facebook any more because of it. I think we all need to accept that people are just going to make their own choices based on their own assessments, and you're not going to see minds changed. I'm not going to lock this thread or anything, but it does have an endless feel to it.

Why is everything black, white and orange to you Bill. It sounds very racist. 86 you accuse me of using CNN/MSNBC "talking points," yet you ascribe to every right wing propaganda notion out there. Where was Biden's son's corruption? He sat on a board of a Ukrainian company? How did Joe benefit from it? How is Biden incompetent? Compared to Trump he looks like Abe Lincoln. Granted, I'll give you this evacuation from Afghanistan is a mess, but Biden made the right decision here (same decision Trump promised to make only Trump promised to have it done by May). It has been implemented poorly. Other than that I don't see any "incompetence," like we did with Trump almost on the daily. I like you 86. I think you are an earnest guy. And please stop with the "Antifa" card. "Antifa" is not an arm of the Democratic Party. Anyone who engages in violence on the right or left is wrong in my opinion, and "Antifa" is dwarfed by the myriad radicalized right wing militia groups and white supremacists groups who would like nothing more than an overthrow of our democracy and a fascist dictatorship. They probably wouldn't like that much though as that fascist dictator would seize their guns unless he could utilize them as a paramilitary organization. As for the vaccine - which is the topic of this thread - it is proven to be safe as much as any new vaccine. Not getting it is irresponsible. It doesn't prevent people from contracting the illness, just like any other viral vaccine. It does greatly lessen the chances that people who contract it will end up in a hospital ICU (which are again currently overwhelmed in certain areas of the country) and lessen the chance that people will pass it on to others. Universal vaccination is the key to getting back to normal. Done here. Can't spend this much time on this stuff. You keep harping on Trump. How many times did the leftist media claim he was wrong about something or they had proof he was a Russian agent? All these investigations by members of Congress who openly lied about the "proof" they had on Trump... all false. How about the theory the virus escaped from the lab in China... guess what the leading theory is amongst our own intelligence agencies? The establishment did not see Trump coming... they laughed at him and then did everything they could to tie his hands. I remember the days when the guys in your age group talked about fighting the "man" and calling out the corruption at the CIA and FBI. Now you all seem to worship at their alter... why? Yet I see Democrat-controlled cities that have failed generation and generation of minorities by providing a shit school system and through constant permit fees and over-regulation have driven good-paying jobs out of these communities. I think many liberals are well-intentioned but struggle heavily under the weight of critical thought. I also do not think that every racist is driving a Ford F150 with Tennessee license plates, with a stars and bars flag and the Allman Brothers blasting out the window. As for the vaccine... I am not trying to stop anyone from getting the shots if they want. But, I thought liberals were all for the personal choice of individuals to do what they want with their body? If you think you are a girl, remove your penis... if you don't want to be a mom, abort your baby. With your vaccines, you should not be worried about me as you are squared away. I would be no more contagious if I got sick than the vaccinated person who also contracted the virus. Also, herd immunity does not require 100% of the population getting vaccinated. Neither you or anyone at the pharmaceutical companies know anything about the long-term effects of these vaccines, as they are new. Take a look at Isreal, the Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine is just 39% effective against the Delta variant. 60% of hospitalized in Isreal were vaccinated. Our own FDA and CDC said that they would never approve a vaccine with 50% efficacy. also comparing the survival rate amongst those who were vaccinated vs those that caught covid in the initial wave last year is hard to really determine as initially we had limited protocols and did not know how to treat people. We had excessive deaths due to the shit policies of Governors in NY, NJ, MI etc, who forced nursing homes to take in covid patients... tuning these facilities into killing fields. |

No matter how right I may be, or how wrong you may be... I still respect your right to decide.  |
