There's plenty of places within 15 mins with an easy Uber to the arena. Not to mention there's an LIRR train station there depending where you are coming from. I dunno. Seems like a stretch to me when compared to AC and Albany where you have tons of hotels within walking distance to the arena. Beats driving 2-3 hours extra for many.

Well, possibly, but the good thing is that fans of Rider, St. Peter's , Manhattan, Iona, Fairfield and possibly even Marist would not need hotels. If it's in Albany, pretty much everyone but Siena & Marist would need hotels.

I hope UBS is the choice, but based on past history and their decision making patterns, I don’t see the MAAC choosing a location that doesn’t have lodging on or near premises.

Another transportation option, if at UBS... LIRR will begin service from Grand Central to Elmont-UBS Arena sometime this year. The station is about half a mile from the arena, and shuttle buses are available.

70 again, I hope you are right. I want UBS. It would be a great solution IMO. However, 6 miles in NY Metro compared to 6 blocks in AC and Albany is a big difference and based on the MAAC’s decision making history, I am not confident. Again, hoping I am wrong.

12 hotels within 6 miles, think we are good Do you remember if the MAAC ever hosted a tournament at a similar location? The only one I can think of was Meadowlands. This would be a similar choice, going back to the roots.

This would be a similar choice, going back to the roots. Going a back a little further the Nassau Coliseum hosted the ECAC Metro which included Seton Hall and StJohns before they joined the Big East in 1980. The Meadowlands , yes, was the biggest venue to answer your question.

Doesn't the MAAC typically have the following year venue in place prior to the current years tournament ? Seems pretty late to still be discussing future venues. And why the hell would Ensor get any say in this when he's leaving?

This is actually 1 year beyond the cycle. Threw an extra year to AC to be fair.
