Reading the Siena board, while not mentioning him by name, it sounds like Durugordon will not be eligible. If that's the case, tough blow as likely nice chunk of NIL money spent on an ineligible player, and now have to worry that HM programs don't try and poach him before next season. Honestly, was still worth the shot. If they were claiming a "mental stress" issue, there was zero chance he would get that waiver in Albany as his family is located in Queens. If he had transferred to a NYC area school he might have stood a chance. Bad move with a shit ending for the guy. I have never seen a school whiff on so many waiver attempts. Siena must be filling out the forms in crayon or something.

By sitting out does he double his NIL money as he'll be in school an extra year? Not so sure the moving closer to home stuff will work now. FWIW, don't believe he was actually denied yet, but Guy told me their doom and gloom is probably based off of a tweet by Jeff Goodman, who said very few football player waivers were approved.

Maybe the NCAA is cracking down on something as they are letting the NIL turn into a complete shit show. Maybe they are actually requesting proof that these kids were actually seeing professionals or taking meds for their stress issue. Goodmans post is also bad news for Daniss.

Agreed. Jenkins better get his degree Brookshire? He might have a small shot. He made it clear his reason for leaving was because of the loss of his Mom, and he did move somewhat closer to home. Thing is, the new guidelines the NCAA came out with say a kid has to show he was getting help for dealing with stress/mental issues. Hope he gets his waiver

Amazing. So it's possible Durugordon will be driving around in 2023 Challenger while not eligible, and the team's leading scorer will have to use Uber??

Mohamed Wague, in portal from West Virginia mess. Averaged 4 and 3 for WV last year, shot 74% FG (not a typo). 6-10 Jr. Looks like Kansas St and Depaul are the frontrunners. Wague commits to Alabama. But hey, at least we gave it a shot!

Jose Perez has attended more schools on scholarship than anyone I know... Gardner-Webb to Marquette to Manhattan to West Virgina to TBD.

General comment! Good to see some life on the Board - other than '59 pining for his hourly basketball fix.

At least most of you have a job to go to. Try John Grisham's basketball novel - SOOLEY. It's a great read and should tide you over for a while. I deliberately slowed the read because I was enjoying it so much.
