No idea. But also not a rush. Got plenty of time until summer workouts get going, and if we're not getting Almonor, we'll have some NIL money to play with as well.

Anyone have an opinion on when we get our next commit? Have an idea that while we are waiting on the FDU kid, that if we don't get him, we'll probably get Plan B. shortly after the FDU guy decides. F/w/i/w, on the MAAC Board, yesterday, Siena indicated that they would be getting him. 59, don’t see why we’d be talking Plan B if we don’t get Almonor. There is still plenty of good talent available in the Portal and I’m sure we’ll come up with a good selection (x2). As you know the Siena folks do a lot of talking and have shown little action in recent times…

While this off-season haul of recruits has been impressive, am I in the wrong for being slightly concerned if we not only don’t land Almonor but lose him to Siena? Just think it’s odd that Tobin wouldn’t be able to get any of his former FDU guys. Maybe it’s all about $$ and other schools have larger offers. Just my two cents.

Iona's NIL is just as good as Siena's. Example: I know for a fact Iona offered 100K to a recruiting target. 100k to one player, who they didn't land, because the recruit decided to transfer to the program where the coach was that recruited him out of HS. This isn't insider information, but from a person well connected to recruiting and knew this kid and his circle. NIL, comes down to how much a program values a player. If what I'm hearing is true, then Tobin did the right thing and not grossly overpay, like it appears Siena did. Iona has multiple players who play his position, while Siena, despite some recruits from HM programs, have lots of question marks, and have yet to secure a All-Maac level recruit. If things go tge way it appears, I hope the fan base uses some restraint both on the board and twitter. Just my thoughts and opinion

Biggie Patterson was recruited to STAC by Tobin before he left for FDU, so technically he did get one of “his guys”

I’m unaware of any players from FDU that Tobin REALLY wanted. If someone has knowledge of a player he REALLY wanted, name him and I’ll ask TA personally if thats so

We've spent a good amount to build a roster--Siena has not. That approach did not work out well last year when the outbid us for Durugordon. If Almonor wants to chase the bag rather than go with a known commodity, let him.
