'24 scholarships to be filled: Open Shema Brown Tretout Panzo Williams? Can use covid yr Krystkowiak? Can use covid yr
Hope both Williams and Krystkowiak stay extra yr, so 5 scholarships. One already taken by Menard. 4 remaining.
Staff has lots of offers out to some very good HS recruits, including a couple athletic bigs. Have heard Tobin wants at least a couple more HS kids. 2 HS recruits and 2 transfer recruits? If really good HS kids continue to go under recruited does Tobin take more HS kids?
Tough decisions

I've looked at the roster break down by position and class on Verbal Commits. I know that they are not always 100% accurate, but overall I think they do a pretty good job. They show a position breakdown by 'year' including a different column for '24 and '25 offers. One thing that stands out is the Center position. Oz is the only guy on the roster and we have ZERO offers to recruits that VC considers a center. So, my guess is that TA likes to play w/o a 'big' or that he will target the Portal to fill that position.
P.S. And the team has been practicing for about a month and a half, with no 'news' from the team. Or did I just miss it?

Finding a good one that fits the system is hard to do. We're lucky that for this year Os fits really well. Have a feeling he will like playing for Anderson.

Doesn't use traditional bigs, he played against the biggest player in college and still didn't use his tallest player Also, in MAAC play many centers are not considered centers by the services because they are projecting their position if they went to a major Nelly not a center but was the best center in the maac

This staff has been recruiting very good length overall and , like 70 said, they are recruiting to fit the style of play and system. They want skilled , athletic players and if you have those qualities and are 7'1", chances are that you will end up playing in the Power conferences. Many of the players that we have had over the years that were 6'10" and above, did not turn out to be very skilled and were taken more as a backup player or a development project. If you look at our best bigs we have had in recent years many of them would be listed as PF/C's by the services due to their heights and because many players push to be more than a traditional back to the basket bigs... everyone is a Point Forward or Point Center or a "versatile" big capable of playing wing. I think many of us would fall out of our chairs if the staff landed players of this caliber and at these heights. Mike Glover 6'7" David Laury - 6'8" Jordan Washington 6'8" Roland Griffin- 6'7" Tajuan Agee- 6'9" Nelly Junior Joseph - 6'9" I am not saying these players are of that caliber, but I like our overall team length and the skills they bring to the table. Dylan Saunders - 6'9" Cam Krystkowiak - 6'9" Osborn Shema - 7' Sultan Adewale - 6'7" Current Recruits we are aware of these players that we have offered. Remember the real number that we have offered is at least 3x's what we are aware of through the media and I can tell you that the staff is tracking and actively recruiting a lot more centers and power forwards than this list. Joshua DeCady -6'8"- PF/SF Jacob Hogarth- 6'9" -PF Brant Byers - 6'8" SG/SF/PF If the staff wanted a traditional big who only plays around the basket and can bang, Silas Sunday would still be on the squad. I can only assume that the staff is looking more for a couple of athletic bigs (PF/C) that can guard multiple positions, run the court, can play with their back to the basket but can also step out and hit a shot at the top of the key or even out to the three.

86, thanks. A great roster break down. And thanks to 1970 as well. Going into next season (24-25) if we do get a 'big' I'm guessing it will be a Portal or Juco guy.

Stretch 4s and 5s are out there, and Tobin will find them, whether in the portal or elsewhere. Not worried too much about it.

Jacob Hogarth- 6'9" PF - out of White Plains, NY and South Kent School. Plays AAU for Middlesex Magic. A strong, athletic, shot blocking machine. Tough to stop from scoring in the paint. Ratings:Rivals: N/R 247: N/R ESPN: ★★★★ ON3: N/R Offers: Creighton, Maryland, SJU, St Bonaventure, Fairfield, Maine, Bryant, Buffalo, Quinny. Interest:Scouting Report:"Hogarth is one of the most improved players in all of New England. He spent the first half of the season learning from and playing behind Papa Kante, Elijah Wilborn etc... However, as the year progressed he played valuable minutes for the NEPSAC AAA Championship team. He is uber athletic and is able to guard all five positions on the floor. He has an improving back to the basket game, but has excellent face up and ball skills for a player of his size. Tweet from Trilly Donovan. He's the absolute best on Twitter with breaking recruiting news.
Predicting Iona getting a commitment from JUCO Isaac Brice. Very possible he switches to class of '23. Very athletic and great defensive player. Will wait for him to announce to start a new thread with more stats and video.
