Spoke to King Oz and James Carey on Saturday, 2 very good guys. Carey said he is working in Rye and Shema hopes to turn pro. Wished them the best of luck. Class acts, both of them.

Not sure where to put this but it's attached to RP. Reports are out that the SH transfer, Richmond, is being paid $2M by SJU. I'm trying to confirm it, and Richmond was rated the #1 guy in the Portal. This comes a day after the Johnies picked up a PG from Utah to replace Jenkins. Wonder if Repole knows that he didn't win the Derby. Money is flowing like Mineral Water in Queens.

If the $2M is close to being true, wouldn't that make other players (possibly) on the team feel that they are playing for peanuts? And cause disruption. Or does winning cure everything.

It's a question I've had all along even at our level. Last year the older guys made a decent chunk more than the frosh did--and yet by season's end, everyone deferred to JQ. |
