The talent drop off is astronomical from last years team. I guess patience has now just turned into wait until Shema comes back

They try hard, but they are not that good. The talent differential between iona and hofstra is significant.

They try hard, but they are not that good. The talent differential between iona and hofstra is significant. No doubt Hofstra is more talented. Having said that, the game was there to be won but Gordon, Tretout, Brown and Williams did nothing. |

Tretout was a no show tonight Wish he was a no show, we would have been better off. That was one of the worst games I ever saw an Iona starting guard play at home. And he had one of the best back at the opener, what the hell happened? Team is offensively challenged.,Played good d tonight. Will be competitive in the Maac but need Shema back and have to improve a good amount offensively to even win this league. it can happen, but we have to make big improvements on offense. |

We’re all frustrated. Still think this team will get a lot better as the season goes on. They will have to start moving purposefully, instead of without purpose, in the half court. That will get things right:

I'm gunna stop commenting for a bit before I say something really critical. But this team simply does not improve from game to game. The press ends up hurting more than helping. Constant wide open 3s over and over and over every single game. Those of you say that it wears the team down by the end are missing the point that it gives up wayyy to many easy baskets along the way to put Iona in the holes they have to dig themselves out of. I get it's a big part of Tobins philosophy but your kids aren't learning to play defense without fouling as a result. If defense isn't working I wonder how much less than 64pg last 3 we will give up when it works |

Tretout is so aggravating. The body language too yikes. Also 58 home points come on. Start Quigley, Arenguren, Panzo, Saunders, Adewale. Get Adewale involved early otherwise he's an absolute non-factor. I'm done watching Gordon and Tretout dribble around.. maybe drive or back down and get caught in no man's land.. pick up dribble and then turn it over. If we're building towards the future, they don't seem like they should be apart of it IMO. Gordon is part of the future, maybe don't start him at PF so he can post up guys his own size |
