Hard to ignore the elephant in the room. Which elephant? Good players are leaving next year for like the third time after a guy has a few good games and we’re not even through February or this team might not win the tournament? This team might not win the tournament. So be it. Life goes on. No one dies as a result.

100% sure that Niagara 3 would have went in if it didnt get blocked, as time expired. Joebird curse is still alive and kicking. We all know curses don’t exist right? And if you bind a woman up with ropes and toss her in a pond and she floats that doesn’t mean she’s a witch, right?

I hope to God after the final regular season game it isn’t three days on this board (which everyone says the players read) of every possible way we might lose from the bus to Atlantic City breaking down to the possibility that one of the assistant coaches could be a robot.

Agree with Bill. We may figure out the late game issues (much the way we've figured out everything else, sans FTs) and win another title. Or, we may be playing with fire and it burns us in AC. I had that rant a little ways back about us being spoiled brats. If we don't win it all, there are valid reasons, none of which are enough to denounce your fandom or worse, label Tobin a failure. I mean, if Cluess is our GOAT, he didn't win a title until his 3rd season. You don't build a program overnight.

Hard to ignore the elephant in the room. Depends on how big the room is.

Gordon’s size/game translates well to the MAAC. Might be very different if he’s in a conference where he’s guarded every night by players that are bigger/faster/stronger than he faces in the MAAC. Players leave teams every season. New players arrive. Absent a coaching change most of our players with time remaining will return. I’m more concerned about not blowing big leads any more. and I’m grateful that we have the ability to build big leads now.

Curses, refs are out to get us, yada yada. This kind of loony thinking plagues organization like the Red Sox, Cubs, Detroit Lions for years until a sane person comes in and changes the culture. Then guess what, the curse is miraculously lifted!

Don't remember the year but think it was in the 90's and we were playing Holy Cross at Mulcahy and the game was in the 100's and either double or triple OT. We were up three, I believe, with HC having the ball but needing to go the length of the court with only a couple of seconds left. If my memory is correct HC threw a half court pass to their 6'10 center, Charlie Browne (Tolentine), who caught it and passed it for the tying shot. Can't remember what happened, but hopefully someone does. Charlie graduated in 1980. He played against Ruland in NCAA game we won.*

Blown leads or not, Tobin Anderson is a very good coach. We really couldn’t have picked a better replacement for Pitino. I’m very happy with him, I do think it would help to have a veteran assistant on the bench, but Tobin seems very loyal to his guys, and that kind of loyalty is a good thing.

Wonder how many times an Iona player has scored 30+ points in two out of three games. I bet it hasn’t happened many times outside of Burtt and maybe Sean Green.
