Iona05's point is that if you told us all we'd go 1-1 in Buffalo, we would have assumed a loss to Niagara and a win against Canisius, and knowing that Niagara is a decent team that was actually ahead of us in the standings, we would have "understood" if you will.
Instead, we got the reverse, so to I70's point, it feels like a missed opportunity. But, tying back to my earlier post, it's life on the road in league play. We have two winnable games at home next weekend--let's start a new streak!
Jesus, we have a bunch of babies. Nobody said we didn’t want to get the sweep or it makes us any less competitive or masculine to say it is okay to grab a split. But for Christ’s sake look at the history. It is extremely difficult to go 2-0 in Buffalo. We have only done it twice in the past decade and many Iona teams that were far superior to this one failed to get out of Buffalo with a sweep. Look at the data, that’s all I was saying. There is a reason very few teams can run the table on this Buffalo trip.
How is this a wild opinion? Niagara loss @ home was bad/winnable, Marist home opener same, QU same and today same? If we pull two of those out we’re 9-3.
Well, we could have lost to Rider and Niagara, and instead be 5-7.
Lol we were up 20 in both those games with 8 mins to play. I’m saying we have let numerous, winnable games get away and have yet to snatch any games from the jaws of defeat.
Having JG inbound the ball, on either end of the court, is a mistake. We need his quickness moving to receive the inbounds pass. This burned the team several times today.

You don't get it, and never will.

I don’t get that we blew at least four league games this year? Thankfully not 7 by blowing giant leads? 7-5 is fine. This team is what it is. A contender. Could and should be with QU at the top of the league.

Really? For saying it was a bad loss? BTW, it was a bad loss.
Losing because it was just a bad shooting day is one thing. Losing because they played with zero energy and urgency is totally different.
Don't see the problem with some fans having that opinion. I'm pretty sure the team feels the same. Forced 3 turnovers 1st half, 13 in the 2nd half when they played with intensity.
Hopefully it's a lesson learned that they need to bring it for 40 minutes, not 10

The team played like crap for most of the game, it happens. Bottom line is a split on the Buffalo trip is a satisfactory outcome. Let’s just move on. We hold serve at home, take care of business against Manhattan at Draddy and then it comes down to road games at Marist, Mount and Rider. Win 2 of those and we should be a 2 seed.

Why should they be? What do you see that has you believing we are really that good?

There are exactly zero teams in the country that can bring high energy for even the majority of minutes game after game. The teams that win on the regular are the ones with talent and experience. We have pretty good talent but not a ton of experience in general, but certainly very little in terms of knowing what it takes to win.

All four games I listed were games that we should’ve won. Yes, blowing leads late just means you’re a team that just can’t execute when it matters. Or you’re not a well coached team.
I think we have the most talent in the league, but some guy somewhere said talent doesn’t win games. We can easily win 3 games in March, but I, as a fan, also like to dominate this league, and imo, we can easily be atleast 9-3, and I hate losing league games that are winnable even if they don’t mean anything other than having a good league record.

No one says the team or coach can’t be criticized here. What’s insufferable is over the top negativity and absurd expectations, imo. This team was assembled a year ago. 13 new guys. IMO it’s remarkable we aren’t hanging around the bottom with Siena. Quinny is led by two guards who have played six years together, most of their team is back and their new coach was their assistant coach for the last few years. FF has experienced guards who’ve played together. Their new coach was their assistant coach. I think James might be 30 and he’s still at Rider. Today we had to rely on 3 guys who weren’t even in D-1 last year- Gordon, Quigley, and Aranguren to get us a win. Yes they are very good players, but are learning. Our Grad transfers and Os have to do more. Os and Panzo didn’t have it today. Tretout was out. This team was not going to be 11-1 at any point or even 9-3.
Thanks to the former coach you can’t look at this like a typical year.

We all get frustrated over some games, but just think of where our program is compared to Siena. I doubt any of us would want to change places with those poor bastards.

Experience matters, though. This is the youngest team we've seen in New Ro in 15 years, and a bunch of grad kids new to a system are also technically "inexperienced" per se.
