I was in the hospital last month with Covid. Hell I am just glad I could make yesterday's game and am looking forward to Atlantic City. It is just basketball. Re: Attendance. You take away the band and the cheerleaders and I bet there weren't 50 students at yesterday's game. I know it is a small school but MSM is in the middle of nowhere. Hope you're feeling better!

Well, at least yesterday's game must have helped him feel better.

Hope is on life support being kept alive by machines. Funny I just read the life support comment from Sharkey as well in the other thread. Must have something to do with our new nursing school.

Would like Iona to show me something like they did vs Rider who is clearly much more talented than MSM.
Players need to play better, but the coaches need to coach better too.
Find ways to win. This time of year is all about adapting to win.. enough of the this is what we do so were gunna do it.
That's fine for trying to get a team to play a style that you want, but it's a little bit late for that with only a few games left.
Cluess adapted come march. Tobin needs to do the same.

Well if Tobin wants to make a radical adjustment to his approach, like becoming more conventional, he has the perfect excuse. He just lost his best inside scoring threat, his leading rebounder, and a key piece on the press. We'll see what he does.

With four RS games remaining, I have a feeling that Oz Shema will have his best game of the year in one of them. And, I'm hoping it's tomorrow night. Probably the outcome of the game depends more on Quinnipiac than on Iona. Most have written off our season, so it seems that all the pressure will be on the Bobcats. Expect the spread to be about two points. And no idea who will be favored.

Ken Pom has us winning by 4. But that prediction is based on metrics that include Gordon's contributions. If the line opens Iona -4, we should see movement if anyone is paying attention.

Part of me thinks we should give him this weekend off to rest and get healthier for the tournament, but only he knows how he's really doing.

You're not going to see a radical adjustment with 4 games to go in the regular season. The issue is we've just gotten much easier to defend. The player with the greatest opportunity right now is Sully--this may be the time to challenge him and see what he can do. He may be the only player on the roster capable of changing our fortunes offensively, because he can provide something we don't get from anyone else now that Gordon is gone.

No stats to back this up. But I would like to see us play more zone. If nothing else, it would give us a different look.

I was thinking of more along the defensive side. Less pressing for sure. On Offensive side, keep attacking the hoop and make quicker decisions. Have a plan. Too much driving and a crazy shot or driving, picking up dribble and frantically trying to find an open guy. Others have to move better without the ball, stop standing around. They figured this out once but are reverting back to crappy offensive with GG quitting.

We literally have no one on the low post to fear, so the opponent can come out on the perimeter and defend 3s or make our guys drive to the hoop. But to your point, we DID move well without the ball at Rider, but less so at Mount.
