No stats to back this up. But I would like to see us play more zone. If nothing else, it would give us a different look. While that's true, playing zone makes you weaker on the defensive glass--something we're already not good at. I'm hoping that by playing zone, it might help save the players' legs. At least in the first half we could see which defense is more effective. This is just a suggestion, but it is something that I hope to see. With fewer players in the rotation, fresher legs could help.

I was thinking of more along the defensive side. Less pressing for sure. On Offensive side, keep attacking the hoop and make quicker decisions. Have a plan. Too much driving and a crazy shot or driving, picking up dribble and frantically trying to find an open guy. Others have to move better without the ball, stop standing around. They figured this out once but are reverting back to crappy offensive with GG quitting. True! But, well, not having Greg changes how teams defend us, too. We literally have no one on the low post to fear, so the opponent can come out on the perimeter and defend 3s or make our guys drive to the hoop. But to your point, we DID move well without the ball at Rider, but less so at Mount. Would be nice if we could get some lobs to Shema for easy dunks. But my guess is he's not healthy enough for that.

Iona is -2.5 tomorrow. I never bet against Iona but Quinnipiac moneyline seems like a really good bet.

Poor attendance by students under Pitino, non existent under Anderson. The Espn friday night game against manhattan was a no show. Surprising. You see people on social media complaining about student attendance all across mid-major basketball, not just Iona. definitely an issue across all mid-major basketball like you mentioned. The support when I was a student (13-17) was great as well as leading up to covid, which shut everyone out and there was a whole new crop of students who basically didn't have the tradition of going to games passed down and now unfortunately here we are

I could see a fan interest schism similar to what we see between the NCAA tourney and the NIT. Interest wanes when you don't feel a part of something greater.

Iona is -2.5 tomorrow. I never bet against Iona but Quinnipiac moneyline seems like a really good bet. I find it hard to be confident we will win tonight. Not because we’re not capable, and not because the coach and staff are not capable, more because I’m not sure we think we’re capable. And let me be clear about this: I have complete faith in Tobin. This year was historic as to the rebuild that was needed. I'm sure he made some mistakes and I'm confident he's learned from them. As far as I'm concerned he's done a pretty good job given the task he had.

Fairfied/marist good game tonight also

From a hoops perspective, Quinny's 4-game slide has been due to struggles on D--which bodes well for our offense, still trying to find its way without Gordon. So, tonight is not a clear-cut L. The fact the line hasn't moved suggests to me that no one wants to bet on either of these teams right now LOL.
Agree that Tobin's learned a lot from an off-the-court perspective at least. Biggest lessons have come from portal, and what you want from a kid there. Sharkey said this the other day I believe, but I'd rather us go JUCO with whatever we have left and just live with being younger. That said, if Terrell Williams wants to come back, I say we take him.

Again, can't say I'm surprised.
You actually got refs calling fouls and you still decide to just jack up long and contested 3s..

Somebody posted before, but quigley inbounding ball- no bueno. Difficult to understand why Tobin doesn’t see that. But then again I remember when several of Cluess’ teams struggled to inbound the ball.
