While we wait...thoughts on Iona's record in the other 8 OOC games? 6-2? 4-4? 2-6? Who is officially part of the field so far? The only schools that have formally released schedules that include this tournament are Iona and Arkansas St. It was also tweeted "unofficially" that Indiana St is committed to the event, but their schedule is not out yet. Other schools rumored to be in the field include Hofstra, Incarnate Word and Rice. None of those schools have publicly said they're in it or have released schedules yet. The event guarantees 3 games, so technically, if 8 teams aren't in it it doesn't mean the event is scrapped. Technically, as long as you have 4 teams guaranteed to be in it, you can play 3 games. Arkansas St is going to be pretty darn good, flirting top 100ish. Indiana St had a great season last year but the program's been gutted. Still an "up" game based on conf affiliation. We'll see who joins the party. See y'all at the fish fry! |

Been awhile since I posted.
Making a guess right now would be just that, hard to predict a brand new team to have a good record in OOC.
The ONLY important thing here is to use OOC to improve and hopefully dominate or at least be at the top of the MAAC.
I want to believe Tobin when he says he's got the guys he wants this time around. My hunch says he has so I am excited for that.

As usual the last several years the schedule is missing a date at MSG. Wondering if we will ever play a meaningful game at the Garden ever again? Really a sin that the Seton Hall game was cancelled back in 21. Seemed like Iona was going to bring a big crowd and that could have lead to being invited back. Now it feels like we may never get this chance again. Miss the days of getting a chance to play a major there.

I don’t remember ever playing them. Just realized this game is in a great spot on for us on the West Virginia schedule. It’s sandwiched in between their huge road game at rival Pitt and a first round Bahamas game vs. Gonzaga. Good chance we catch them sleeping. |
