It looks like Iona now has their full roster, even if Bundy hasn't been announced. But for some reason a player they had been after and had committed elsewhere changes his mind and says he wants to come to Iona. TA says we're out of scholarships, but we can make it up in NIL money. Naturally, this is hypothetical, but it would be a way for schools to get around the 13 scholarship limit. Money wise, it would be easier for the big schools with lots of money at their disposal. Or am I missing something?
If I’m not mistaken, didn’t the Jawnies bring in a 14th player late last season, exceeding the 13 allowable scholarships, and we suspected his costs were being covered. Call it what you want, I don’t believe in NIL any longer. It should be redesignated as PFP or Pay for Play. That’s what is really going on!
