be, in order for 1970 to understand your posts, you have to use words that only contain a single syllable. 1970, he means more height. In fairness to 1970, he has claimed that TA prefers going with three guards. And based upon the way the roster is constructed, I think that is correct. And historically the MAAC has a reputation of being a League with VG guards. So, I would say that we should be in good shape for MAAC play. The challenge will probably be two fold: 1. OOC games. 2. Post Season, if we get there. Yes, TA recruited kids he wanted that aren't tall enough, I guess FDU didn't beat the #1 team with the biggest center in college. I don't claim I know. #16 defeats #1 in the NCAA tourney. It happens about as often as 1970 makes sense. |

Thank you … I'll apologize for using height as a description for what the team needs on defense. And, while I appreciate reading about the Cluess era players, they are not relavent (Sp?) with a new coach and system. We have one season of stats for rebounds and blocked shots. As follows: 1. Rebounds-Iona 1051 Opponents 1189 Per Game-Iona 31.8 Opponents 36 2. Blocks-Iona 96 Opponents 127 Per Game-Iona 2.9 Opponents 3.8 Guy indicated that our rebounding should be okay, and that was good to see. Also, hoping for rim protection, but we'll have no idea even after the schedule comes out. But the HL videos do show a bunch of athletic recruits which should translate to improved play on the defensive end. |

Nobody 6'10 or above no true center. If you looked at Iona's "True Centers" under your criteria, since 2000, Nelly would be the only 6'10" super productive player. Now go back and look at the production from our "Little" bigs. |
