Once again economics vs a championship. What is more important? $20.00 a tix x 2000 (less then a full house)= $40,000. How is this not a possibilty? A championship banner at Hynes seems to be worth the few dollars that we would be short. What about recruiting? It can't hurt. What about fund raising? Can't hurt that either. What about publicity? Seems like a cheap way to buy it. I don't know............ seems to make too much sense! For starters Iona would have to limit the number of free students attending to about 300, the greatest attendance all year was probably the Fairfield game; (and they traveled well for that game) and the Richmond Game (bigger name opponent, and they traveled okay for that game; best student section all year) Being that there's not a geographically close opponent, unless the team Iona is hosting has some name recognition I don't think they can sell 2,000 tickets at $20.00. I don't think Iona will bring out as many fans for this tournament's final at home, as showed up in Bridgeport for the Maac finals.

The facts are we don't have anything to go on except the 2 NIT games we hosted in 1983 St. Bonaventure, and 1996 St. Joseph's. Very different circumstances I understand, but both were sold out and a premium was charged for both games. Is the final game on TV? That could be a factor as well. Let's hope we get a chance to find out.

I believe the final game is on the family of Fox Sports channels.

Final game is on Fox College Sports. It's a matter of opinion whether that's TV or not.

I see its been confirmed that if Iona wins, they are slated for a bye in the next round. It will be good to have fresh legs in that game against a team that had to play and travel more, potentially. Ken pomeroy has Iona favored by a slim point on the road against Valpo. That is based on a contributing Smythe though.

Not me! I'm missing only my 2nd ever Iona post-season game. The other was the 2nd round NIT loss @ Nebraska.

Iona 41, Valpo 32 -- Halftime Armand with 10 points Machado didn't play most of 1st half (2 quick fouls) Mike Glover hasn't even gotten started yet.

Kyle Smith with a sling and not dressed. The season is likely over for Kyle.

Is their a final? half was at 7:55 and it's now 9:30...not a positive vibe being emanated on the Board.
