Akron reportedly at Missouri State. Does that mean they aren't playing us?

Lunardi & Katz used the lines quoted in the other thread : Men's Hoops in the News: crediting Momo & Scott for their ability to score for both teams.; also saying that our OOC wins were against good "names" not good teams, Maryland, e.g.
Good news is a trip to Nevada to see the Gaels in 2 years.

Should be a good game for us. A win would be on par with the Saint Joe's win. They haven't beat as many good teams as we have, but they haven't lost any stinkers either.

I believe that Nevada is a better matchup for us,..Alron has a big front court with a pretty good 7 footer. That would have meant trouble for us. Nevada looks looks manageable, but size will still be somewhat of a problem..............Does anybody have an idea what was the reason for the misinformation....................

Iona game announced third, seems like it maybe the third biggest game according to ESPN. Although Davidson at Wichita state may be 3rd and us 4th. Rather have gotten WSU due to RPI but still seems like nice match-up, especially if they keep long winning streak going into game, could be ranked by then if that happens.
And by the way Loyola got screwed big time, gives them even more incentive to knock us off on the 10th.

Wichita State got screwed too. They get NOTHING out of playing Davidson.

I wouldn't call it misinformation. It's a true selection show. No one knows until they announce it. Anything you hear prior is pure speculation. Third year in a row our BB team comes somewhat from left field. William & Mary (2010), Liberty (2011) and now Nevada (2012) were at least not on my radar.

Iona vs Nevada is in same time slot as Clemson vs North Carolina. Would be suprised if North Carolina isn't on ESPN and our game on ESPN2. I think the only chance this game has to be on ESPN is for Nevada to keep winning every game. If that happens they would have won 20 in a row and possibly be ranked.
Wichita state would have been better for our power rating but if Nevada is ranked it would be great chance for exposure for Iona.
Despite Nevada's lofty record Iona has much better sagarin, pomeroy and Vegas rankings. Only one that is close is the RPI. Based on today's numbers Iona would be about a 7.5 point favorite.
Finally, this match-up put the last nail in the coffin for an at large bid, even if we run the table there will be no top 50 wins barring a great finish by St. Joes.

Maybe Joe's can put it together and make a run. Dayton is up and down. Temple is good. Xavier since the fight is like a duck that's been hit on the head. St. Louis is good, but beatable. Saw UMASS v. Fordham and its hard to tell from a one game sample, but I wasn't impressed.

Agree on A-10.
And, hey, NEVADA could end up being a top 50 win.
We were done for an at-large the moment Smyth's heave at the buzzer at the TUC failed to connect.

Oh, for SID, here's one vote for Iona setting up a game with UNLV to set up a nice 2-games-in-3-days road trip two years from now!
