One last TV note, if the game is close at the end ESPN News breaks in with upset alert. They did it last night when SFNY was leading Syracuse. We can only hope we get to that point.
Oh and speaking of leads at the end, what would you say is a safe lead? With this team I won't assume victory unless we are up 15 with 6 seconds to go!

One more: I'm the only one out here? Getting excited! Armand is due for a game where he is just on fire from 3. Tonight would be a great night for that!

Last time Kansas lost at home to a mid-major was '06-07 to Oral Roberts unless I overlooked something. The pessimist would say we have no shot. The optimist would say they're overdue for a home loss to a mid. :-)

Believe the Davidson game was at neutral site, albeit in KC.

Believe the Davidson game was at neutral site, albeit in KC. Oh yes, I think you are right, darn I was hanging my hat on duplicating Davidson. Every rational thought says we have no chance but you just never know in sports. Armand, Williams, Bowman, English all hot at the same time from 3 and maybe a miracle can happen.

On Thursday Feb. 7th 1980 we beat Kansas 81-77...Darnell Valentine was their star...It was in the middle of our 16 game win streak...We finished the season at 29-5 after beating Holy Cross then losing a close game to Georgetown in NCAA's...That year was our only Top 20 finish at No. 19.......
It was also the year that Jim Valvano ''Dared to dream''....

Let's face it, Kansas would beat several NBA teams that I can think of. Their roster, facilities, resources overall, are just extraordinary. Kansas is literally a rich program. Comparing Kansas' resources with Iona's is like comparing Warren Buffet's net worth to the local deli owner's. Kansas is supposed to win this game. And that's what makes this fun.
Iona has absolutely nothing to lose tonight. Everyone in the country has this as an L for us. But there's a reason why they play these games. You just never know. I just hope Iona comes out slinging with confidence. No deer in the headlights look like we got from our leading scorer last year against Ohio State. Take your best shot and don't leave anything on the court.

All four were pretty relaxed and looking good at the shootaround.
