I think a lineup of Amayo, English, Williams, DL3 and a solid JUCO player (not asking for a Glover type, but someone who is a solid MAAC level starter) would rival any lineup we've had over the past few decades. The next 2 signings for us are huge. The difference between having a lineup like the one above with Sledge, Hines, Robinson, etc. coming off the bench and having the current lineup where one of them would be forced to start, is huge. Can't be overlooked. and a solid JUCO player A few years ago, Cluess was condemned for recrutiting JUCO's and transfers, now ya look forward to em'........ No he wasn't. I questioned having 80-90% on his team. Another DisTORtiOn

I didn't know seniority of less than a year here makes me less credible than anyone else, especially widespread panic. Haha

We will shortly see a infusion of new blood into the coming seasons lineup...IMO the point guard position is pretty well settled with Casmir, and with situational use of English and Amayo...The remaining major recruitment will come from front court positions...
Where will the following 3 players fit...Robinson, Hines and Sledge...Again IMO...One will see limited playing time until perhaps mid season...Another's playing time will be determined by recruitment progress and need...The others playing time is questionable at least with Iona...
Basic's are in place, parts are on order and we await delivery...The finished product outlook is bright....

I'm hoping to add Malonga, Powell, and Nzei. All 3 perfect for our system and filled with potential. I'm guessing we will at least add one transfer that will need to sit. It's been quite awhile since we haven't added a transfer...if you think about it. So, that would eliminate one of the 3 mentioned above...unfortunately.

If we added two of those three players it would be a grand slam.

Just saw on Guy's twitter feed that Scott is going to Monroe CC. Reports had his friend Ahmed going to Hutchinson CC, so its not so they can play together. Don't understand the transfer to Monroe. Does anybody have any idea why he would make this move when he had a chance for decent PT at Iona this year? grades?

[/quote] Sharkey.....Sometimes we have to look at the picture from the players mind as opposed to we as fans...He has already spent a season with minimal playing time, and cannot stand the possibility of another...A year at a very good local program where he can get playing time, build on his skills and reputation then enter a Div 1 program for his final 2 years is a path he might very well have chosen... IMO his 6-5 6-6 tweener height might have somewhat hindered his progress, but I feel sure that Div. 1 basketball has not seen the last of Scott...

For all we know, this path may have been recommended or been a result of the Iona coaches. With scholarship renewal on an annual basis, pretty sure all D1 coaches sit with each player and do some sort of performance appraisal - letting them know what improvements they want and what their playing time outlook is for the coming year.

If we somehow landed Jermaine Lawrence our starting lineup would be stacked beyond belief:
Amayo English Williams Lawrence Laury

Assuming Lawrence was eligible next year with being granted a hardship waiver due to his father's health issues. Otherwise he sits out next year and replaces David Laury for 2015-2016.
