This episode is not passing the smell test with me, or at least the consistency test. USF is part of the State University System of Florida, as is UCF. UCF was able to overcome the George O' Leary academic issues on his resume. What is different at USF? Did someone piss off someone else to the degree that all of sudden we need to find religion? Is there more to his story??

Pitino (naturally) distancing himself, claiming Massiello was set to graduate before he left.
Didn't KW have an offer pulled also? Delaware? Towson?

greg, you got me, I don't. Was he the guy in Beverly Hillbillies? And what does Steve Masiello and myself have in common? Answer: Neither of us have a degree from the University of Kentucky. Let's all go swimming in the ceeeement pond! LOL. Pool table = Fancy Eatin Table

Wasn't he named as being involved in some sleazy white-collar scam during his years in Kentucky? I seem to recall someone bringing it up when Manhattan hired him. Anyone recall something like this or am I hallucinating? There were allegations about peddling Kentucky Derby tickets.

Anyone recall something like this or am I hallucinating? There were allegations about peddling Kentucky Derby tickets. Claimed he had a degree from Kentucky. Media now saying he was never graduated. If so, it's lying on a resume. My advice to him: Beg to have Manhattan take him back and finish his degree there.

Eddie Jordan @ Rutgers had same issue right after Rice left.
Give Big Jeff credit for coming back to get his degree.

St. John's board attributes a tweet to Howard Kussoy of the NY Post that Manhattan did require a degree when Mass was hired in 2011. What a problem he created for Manhattan Admin. Cut bait and move on.

As you recall it was Notre Dame that caught the issues (didn't get his Masters degree as he had on his resume' and never played football at New Hampshire). UCF hired him 3 years after the lies. He had an NFL job first. He also did have an undergraduate degree. Still terrible, but different circumstances.

If Manhattan retains Masiello, what recruit in his right mind would want to play there?
