Can't remember when the Gaels looked this bad. Road trip to South Carolina for a 7am start? I take nothing from this game. Surprised they looked as good as they did in the first half. What happened to the cross country excuse for the other team you had?

What happened to the cross country excuse for the other team you had? LOL I guess they weren't out there long enough to acclimate to the time zone. 7am start in South Carolina? I simply throw this one out and move on. Is the team a work in progress? Of course, but I didn't anoint us as the MAAC champions prior to the season. We've got 7 new guys and play a well coached team at 7am on the road in the middle of November. If we won that game I would've been shocked.

I agree about "work in progress" but did you expect such uneven play?

I don't know about you guys but I'm not very good at 7am at home or on the road. Forget it and move on, we've got bigger fish to fry down the road. Also remember the early season loss to Bryant a few years ago. That was meaningless.

Tale of two halves. can see what Iona can be in the first half, but unfortunately also saw what Iona's weaknesses are in the second half. Wofford is a good team that is well coached and will win plenty of games this year. was not expecting a win today but thought the game would have been more competitive. where was Dublin? missed the first few minutes, did he get injured? IW-usual very good defensive game. but have to get him more involved on the offensive side. good to see him drive to the basket, but zero excuse for only getting 4 shots.
Amayo/Hines-really hoped to see more out of them. very important parts of this team that need to play much better if Iona is to have a good season.
Laury-nice to see he worked on his perimeter game, making 3 shots beyond the arc the first 2 games. but I am not sold that I want to see that all season. Iona needs him down on the block. they couldn't guard him down low and he could have fouled out their frontline. Need more than 3 rebounds.
Robinson-nice to see him on the court. while his stats will not reflect it, but I think with continued PT he will be a solid defensive player in MAAC play. even today you could see Wofford had to pull the ball out from down low because of Robinson.
Tough game against a solid team and quite frankly expecting another rough game Friday night against Wake Forest, with all of their size. Gaels are still a work in progress, but can see the potential to be a very good team this season, and still in my mind the team to beat in the MAAC

I honestly didn't know what to expect. Wofford is a very well coached team, returning 5 starters off an NCAA team, playing us at home. We traveled to play this team for a game at 7am. We may just be the worst 7am team in Division 1. I can live with that. You guys are just sore because the wheels came off on national TV and we looked bad. Who gives a rat's ass. It would've been a nice win. Its not going to be a bad loss unless Wofford suffers key injuries and finishes in the middle of their conference.

I admire him for trying to go outside his comfort zone. Wasn't happy with the fade away mid range jumper he took down the stretch against Cleve St. Just has to make good decisions.

This is why Cluess shortens his rotation so much by season's end. He doesn't have the patience to balance in everyone for significant minutes. I don't understand Dublin not playing more--Hines is not an upgrade. Laury spends too much time trying to do everything himself. I thought Robinson was OK--I like how he changes our defense. And our defense was absolutely pathetic today, and again we can't protect the defensive glass. It's part of the system as we try to get out and run, but even the announcers--who were terrible--repeatedly noted that Wofford was sending all kinds of guys to the glass.
I86 is right on, the staff did not adjust. I also thought the team quit. And I agree IW has to be more assertive.
Losing didn't bother me. I picked us to lose this game in my game-by-game projections. But I don't like the way the second half went down at all.

Don't understand why Casimir was pulled in the first half with only one foul. He had eight points and IMO was playing with a lot of confidence. Never did get back into the flow of the game. Only thing I can figure is that TC heard about the Guy-Joebird bet, and was siding with Guy, just to keepl Casimir under 2K. Just like the first game, there doesn't seem to be any flow to our offense. Not hitting a three in the second half was the story of the game, along with too much one-on-one on offense. I'll be over this loss by Thursday, hopefully.
P.S. Could not get any audio on the Iona site, when I tried to listen to the pre and post game interviews. Anyone else have this problem?

Some takeaways for me: --IW needs more than 12 shots in 2 games (Do like the way he is taking charge on the court--directing traffic--calling huddles, etc.) --Defensive rebounding a total mess--know we run out--but they had 3 consecutive 2nd chance baskets at around 11 minutes which turned the game around --Not many 3s taken in 2nd half--credit Wofford --Not sure how much I like DL falling in love with the jumper--trying to do too much --AJ is some player --Amayo is rusty --Must be frustrating to coach Ellis--so much talent--so little basketball savvy --Hines did not show much, given the opportunity he had
Hoped we would win this one, but projected it as a loss. We opened against 2 tough, veteran teams.

We can't kill Cluess for not playing his bench and then when he plays his bench kill him for that too. I'm sure he had a reason for the rotation he put out there. He didn't just forget how to coach when he woke up this morning. Or maybe he did
