]Out of nowhere Rhode Island, likely the toughest game on the schedule.
@ Tulsa & Valpo will be real challenges!
Good game, good location, good fairly newly renovated field house which is good place to watch a game...About a 2 hour 15-30 minute trip from Westchester...95 to exit 3A in Rhode Island, east on rte. 138 about 12 miles to URI which will be on left side of road...Plenty of parking..... Been to and have enjoyed many games there coupled with visit to my sons home in Newport which is another half hour and 2 bridges away....Will certainly try hard to see that game...

Nice work out of 05. At least the Iona athletic office can't blame me. I'm sure they'll find a way. if not, we will. Though I'm not sure what for.

Out of nowhere Rhode Island, likely the toughest game on the schedule.
@ Tulsa & Valpo will be real challenges!
Our loss to RI last year is somewhat deceiving...They beat a very tired and depleted team as losses to 2 late season games to MAAC teams exposed...I feel sure that Cluess has learned a valuable lesson and has prepared well against that re-occurrence.... Their RPI is 66...

Out of nowhere Rhode Island, likely the toughest game on the schedule. @ Tulsa & Valpo will be real challenges! Agree, I think all 3 of those teams will be in the tourney, hard to say which one is best but if I had to pick I would give URI a slight edge. Toughest game may be Oregon State due to the travel and just playing valpo 2 nights earlier, and I imagine the Pac 12 refs will not help. Iona05 said we need to win 2 of these for large consideration, but as the Maac coaches said I don't think we have a mid major committee this year, the uconn ad that was from Hofstra was the only reason we got an at large bid in 12. I think we would need to win 3 of these games, go 18-2 and lose in the Maac final. Anymore than 4 losses and an at large bid probably isn't happening. We Need to win the Maac tourney not only to get a bid but so Cluess and Iona are not considered a team that can't win come March.

Yeah OSU will be a nice test. Valpo believe will be season opener. So here's what is confirmed so far: @ Tulsa @ Oregon State vs Akron vs UCSB Delaware (HAC) Drexel (HAC) Here's what is likely: @ Valpo Here's what is still TBD: One more home game (likely against cupcake opponent) Local exempt tourney road game to replace UCF (likely against quality mid/high level Northeast team) That should wrap it up. Updated: Confirmed: @ Valpo (11/15) @ Oregon State (11/17) Delaware (11/20) @ Tulsa (12/8) vs UCSB (12/22) vs Akron (12/23) Drexel (12/28) Likely: Texas So (12/16) @ URI (12/19) I don't really like the ooc schedule. First off, unlike most posters I don't spend any time or effort worrying about an "At large bid" and I don't care about RPIs. If the goal is an NCAA appearance, win 3 games at the maac tournament, that's it period. I think the OOC should either be about getting interesting(good) schools to come to New Ro(not easy) or to play Good schools on the road for $$$ or possibility of a road win(again not easy). 2015/16 Highlights , to me, @ri, Drexel, @tulsa. So-So -Akron, Delaware, Valpo Who cares- Tex So. UCSB, If there is $- Oregon St., if not, Who cares

Some of those you are interested in are not interested in playing us. 1. Which interesting/good schools will come to NR? 2. Staff has been searching high and low for $$ games--who did they miss? 2 major conference D1 coaches told me personally that they do not want to play us. They can pay plenty of other schools for guaranteed wins. We are not viewed as a guarantee win. 3. Valpo and Tulsa should be top 50 teams--something missing from recent OOC schedule
Beating Wake Forest at WF did nothing for us last year.
Totally agree that the path to the NCAA is through Albany. Some are looking for glamour names--I prefer teams with good RPIs for NCAA seeding purposes when we get there.

Yes more than should be needed to get an at large but I think that is the new reality. This team can't afford to lose another Maac tourney anyway, and that is expecting a lot as well, but that is what is needed to make up for the failures of 3 of the last 4 years. When you are favored you need to win, 2 of 4 should be expected, 2 of 5 acceptable, they can achieve that this year.

As far as seeding goes we will always be a 14 We can be better than a 14 and would have been a 13 last year. The staff has done a great job with this schedule by giving this team an opportunity to earn a 13 or even 12 seed and a much better chance at an NCAA win. At this point the goal is an NCAA win. Also as super said its not too easy to get teams to play us, it seems creating a schedule has become a nightmare for the staff, so you have to consider this a good job.

As far as seeding goes we will always be a 14 Texas Southern was an NCAA team last year--favorites to win league again this year--may open up another opportunity for a SW game when we do the return. Don't know why you loved the Wake game last year. It would have been registered as a bad loss. Danny Manning's last minute timeout when he didn't have one probably cost WF the game. Would have been a 12 or 13 last year; have been higher than 14 previously. Win a winnable 1st round game in the NCAA tournament--answers a lot of issues raised herein.
Agree to disagree--

The odds of winning the maac tournament are far better than getting an at large. And it's not close. Not realistic to go through regular season with 3-4 losses. And if we do, we better damn well not shit the bed in Albany again.
