The odds of winning the maac tournament are far better than getting an at large. And it's not close. Not realistic to go through regular season with 3-4 losses. And if we do, we better damn well not shit the bed in Albany again. Agree, I am basically saying the say thing.

Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I think we can be in the at large conversation consistently. We were a few early season outcomes away from being a bubble team the last two years, so not sure why everyone views this as such a stretch, regardless of committee politics or not.

Because it's not realistic consistently. An at large is not what it used to be. Lots of mediocrity on the bubble nowadays. Beat UMass and Wofford and we would've been right in the mix last year. Beat Bonnies and Nevada and we would've been in the mix the previous year. I don't think it's as unrealistic as others believe.

If you're citing 2-3 games a year needed to get the at-large, you're not that close. There are also about 30 teams that would be right there with 2 more wins, too. Just win the damn maac tournament. We are making excuses for not beating a so-so Manhattan team on a neutral floor, but we expect to win nearly all quality road games we schedule.

Thirty years from now I expect another.

Agree 100%, if we cant beat 3 mediocre maac teams, how is it easier to beat 2 more top 100 teams We wete just one maac tournament win away, much easier than 2 quality ooc games

I still don't understand, St john's has 31 games and we have 29 i thought someone said valpo, oregon st, ri, tex so is an exempt tournament, so why not 2 extra games?

Because I don't believe this is an exempt tourney, and tex southern and uri have nothing to do with Oregon state and valpo, before schedule released this was just speculation.

Not 100% sure but believe it has to do with the amount of teams in the exempt tourneys. Whatever the reason 29 is definitely the max number of games we were able to play given our OOC schedule. That's all that matters.

Considering the trouble we have scheduling good games, I am very happy with what the program was able to put together this year.

I still don't understand, St john's has 31 games and we have 29 i thought someone said valpo, oregon st, ri, tex so is an exempt tournament, so why not 2 extra games? Here's the rule: Allowed to schedule 28 games. One of those 28 games can be an exempt tournament (MTE). You can play up to four games in an exempt tournament (MTE), but they still only count as one "scheduled game". One exempt tournament (MTE) per year. Our exempt tournament (MTE) this year is just Valpo and Oregon State... two games, so our total number is 29. Our exempt tournament (MTE) last year was Arkansas, Wake, North Texas and Delaware State, four games, so our total was 31. The South Point Holiday Classic is just two games on a neutral court (like MSG Holiday Festival used to be). Here's why we are late in releasing: Our policy is not to release until all contracts are signed. We received our last contract late Friday.
