Sed out for the year, needs surgery for a torn labrum. With aj we are still as good as anyone in the maac including Monmouth, just need to play well in the maac tourney.
Isn't that a shoulder injury? I thought he was having hip problems. Good luck said. Hope you'll come back stronger than ever.
This is precisely the effort I was hoping to see. Very proud of this performance!
And Much has the biggest brass balls of any player in the Cluess era.
Love much and he can score and play defense, now we know what happens when you play defense, injuries will pay off in the long run if EVERYONE learns from this
(To paraphrase Winston Churchill, with a biblical bent)
In the kingdom of Iona basketball, during the reign of King Tim II, when Guy was Tetrarch of Lower New England, his cousin Nick was Tetrarch of Middle New England and Bill was Tetrarch of Upper New England, it was said, "That so much was owed by so many to so few". And so it came to pass, that King Tim was heard to say, that THIS WASN'T THEIR FINEST HOUR, FOR THAT IS YET TO COME.
Wasn't able to view the game, but box indicates we may have been on the wrong end of some serious home cooking... they shot 35 fts to 17 of ours which was the difference.
For those that saw it, was it as bad as the stats indicate?
Cjb, I'm sure it's usual for fans to complain about the officiating crew, when you lose, and last night was no different. The one call, actually a non-call, was a possible goal tending call on an Ibn shot. Playing on a Saturday there was no expectation that we'd get a good crew. Doing the radio color, Kevin Hamilton complained about many of the calls, but the one against JW (??) with 1.8 seconds in regulation, causing him to foul out, was called a good call by Gary. Akele, the URI player, missed both shots, sending the game into OT. We have guys, TB, and JW who are no strangers to foul trouble, but AR, our best defender, picked up a T which contributed to his eventual ejection. And I think that IW's problem was just trying to do too much, as I'm sure he had to try to carry the team on his back, which he did in the first half. But over the years we've seen so many poor riffing jobs, that I don't know how last night compared. Maybe Guy, who was there, can shed some light. And were there any other posters at the game?

Overall I don't think the officiating was anything less that what you typically get on the road in an "up" game, especially where the home coach is animated and works the refs a lot. Washington's foul at the end of regulation was the right call. He banged into the guy. Have to say though, typically in that situation the refs "let them play" and a lot of contact is overlooked. But it was the right call IMO. The calls that fouled out IW and Roundtree could've been good no calls as incidental type contact. All in all they got most if not every close or 50-50 call, including the basket interference "no call.". Again that is typical and one of the reasons its so hard to win an "up" game on the road in College basketball. The system is basically rigged to some degree. Can anyone imagine the Yankees saying to MLB, we'll play the Red Sox this year, but only at Yankee Stadium, when we decide, and if they get too good we won't play them at all next year? Its ridiculous, but it is what it is and it isn't gonna change any time soon.
The good news is that you get a game in the NCAA tournament as an underdog and now the officiating is scrutinized by the whole country and the fans in the arena are typically rooting for you and smell favoritism for the favorite a mile away and get on the refs pretty good. This of course assumes you are not playing Ohio St. in Dayton or Duke in Raleigh, etc.

For a while there I thought it was our best strategy because it slowed the game down and they couldn't make a FT.
