Where was Glover vs Fairfield in MAAC tourney or second half vs BYU?
I did not see the game last night, as my family insisted that I feed them. Now if it was the MAAC tourney or a NCAA game, they would have to wait, or even better for my family; they would have shared my Iona enthusiasm on TV of the big game.
I caved to my family in the first half last night because it appeared to me that the Iona giblets (including Much) had not yet thawed out. Hey, I think it's great that Much had a breakout game in the second half, and it probably bodes well for this team going forward - in the MAAC tourney and even a NCAA game. AS for giblets or gonads, how about Ibn's three against Texas Southern, or his two FT's last night - not to mention AJ against St. Peter's (both games) in MAAC play last year? AJ's giblets did back-fire in one of those games last year.
I agree with Guy's sense of optimism going forward because it sounds like the team's giblets thawed during half-time. My concern continues to be that even though we now have size, we continue to play small on the interior defensive end - minus 16 in rebounds. Until we correct that, our guards are going to have to sag on D. And '59 is consistent in his wish for PG play. Don't sleep on Ibn!
Good post. Agreed with this. BTW, re: AJ in big spots, last year he hit game winners or late game clutch shots against SPU, Manhattan, Monmouth, Niagara. And that was just last season alone. But yes, perhaps we should get a medical examiner to check under his jock and see if there are any cojones there. Seems scared of the big spot to me.

Shriveled up in biggest spot. Denying this?
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.
Where was he vs Manhattan? Oh that's right, "sick".
If you're changing your argument from your original point -- which was to name a player whose balls didn't shrink in a big spot -- and now you're asking whose balls didn't shrink in a big spot AND in a BIG game (i.e. MAAC final, postseason, etc.) you'd be hard pressed to find anyone at Iona in a very very long time who fits this description.
I didn't change anything, junior. My argument remains intact.

Disagree w/this. Yes.
If the knock on AJ is doesn't play defense, sometimes lets temper get best of him, etc. you would get no push back from me. If the knock is that he is afraid of big spots, or that he doesn't hit big shots, then I think it's totally off base.
So u don't think our defense has been better the last 2 games?
Looks like Super tried to quote me. Small sample for sure, but name me a Gael in the Cluess era whose giblets never shriveled up in a big spot.
I'm having a hard time getting a handle on what you mean by a "big spot".
If you mean a NCAA win, then the answer is never - not in the Cluess era, not in any era.
If you mean the MAAC tourney, then how about David Laury's steal and dunk to seal the 2013 MAAC tourney. If memory serves me, AJ was "sick" then also with a busted hand.
AS for AJ, I do not question his giblets, his gonads, his balls (the last one is for the church lady - reksonn). If anything, his balls sometimes gets the better of his judgment - dribbles into double teams, forces the issue with dunks in the face of KU's bigs, or with Washington of SPU last year. When AJ's has control of his giblets, gonads, and his balls; his one of Iona's all time greats - PPG, RPG, APG, SPG combined.
I'm starting to agree with the Athletic Department, and wondering if there is not repressed disappointment here with the Cluess era when comparing it to the Valvano run; which, in hindsight, was one of the most celebrated eras in all of mid-major basketball. Coach V never had to face a BB pecking order which was stacked to stop the V's in their tracks. One could argue that the stacked order is a result of what V did for mid-major basketball.
Never said any such thing. You guys are clearly hitting the eggnog early this holiday season.
Let me sum this up for all of you: I don't give a rat's ass whether any of you agree with my opinion or not. And this discussion and thread is over. Anyone who tries to stir this up in any way in another thread is banned. Got a problem, start your own board. Would be doing me a favor.
