Could the surprise be Ahmed decided to honor his original verbal? My guess too. He's still out there. All sorts of eligibility issues

Thanks Tau. I'll continue to "Dare to Dream". One thing about this staff is that whatever the surprise is it'll be a good one...if it goes down.

FYI, Comcast gave me a temporary pass to the Pac12 network. Have the service at my summer home, but should be able to use the Pac12 app on my cell phone to watch the Oregon State game.

Last word I heard was that Ahmed was talking to Tesas A@M and Shaka Smart at Texas. I too doubt Ahmed is in our future. But I would guess we should be hearing something about our gym soon.

Valpo opens up as a 17.5 point favorite tonight against IPFW. Believe game is on ESPN3.

Great!--gives staff a last minute scouting opportunity.

I've been watching Valpo tonight. Very solid defensively, but they play man--will be interesting to see how they play us. Their offense is streaky, some good sets and some shaky plays. IPFW hanging around, down 5 with 9:45 left.
Two schools of logic here. One, Valpo will have had a game to work out some kinks while Sunday is Iona's first game. Two, Valpo may not be in great shape early and just a day's rest for a high-tempo team could be key; further, Iona has an actual scouting report while Valpo does not.
So, I expect Valpo to get off to a good start against us, maybe even go up double figures, and then Iona surges in the second half.
