As part of the banner raising ceremony, I'm expecting/hoping that the big screens (all four) will have a video of JV. It would probably include the Louisville game, shots of him after winning the NCAA Tourney and his ESPY (Never give up) speech. And it would be even better if there were videos of him on the sidelines at the Mulcahy Center.
If that happens even the younger Iona fans will appreciate his greatness.

But there's no doubt negative comments would have been made. Really believe it would have started the "what if" comments. No reason to bring that negativity into the HAC. Not fair to the current roster and staff who are rebuilding the program. |

My main point was that the school sent out special invitations to donors for the game and never mentioned the Valvano ceremony!

Super, I'm not a member of the President's Club, but I'm going to the 1/7 Brunch as a guest of someone who is a member. And last year there was also a Brunch for PC members, which I also attended. My point is that these receptions seem to be annual events, and this year it is on the same date as the JV banner raising. But not directly connected. At least, that is how I see it. |

And does the average fan who shows up or sees Iona posting on its Social Media accounts known anything about it? Iona didn't even make a tribute video back in March either after winning. Way before any players left. Majority of people would have clapped or liked a post if Iona did any kind of tribute to last year's team. If Iona Athletic office doesnt want to, kind of makes them seem a bitter, when they did a great job moving the program forward after RP left. |
