FURP Hangover. That’s what we are experiencing. It isn’t the same level accustomed to. It’ll get better. Patience.

Heading to my root canal which will be less painful than watching a his team 🦷😫👍🏽 At 10:00 PM? Maybe he's a slow driver, same way that we drive to the basket.

Tobin really frustrated. These upperclassmen have to get their shit together. Questions maturity Definitely the most frustrated he has ever sounded. Seems like he’s come to the same realization as us, we are simply just not that good.

Just got around to reading this thread, and I come away with the following: * It's probably been a long time when there were five MAAC games and Iona scored the fewest points. * Also, disappointed that while most posters recognized the team as "The Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight", no one recognized the fantastic shooting streak that Jean Aranguren is on. It is now three games and from the field he's SIXTEEN for EIGHTEEN. And four of five from deep. While, his 26 minutes is better than his recent PT, to only get him six FG attempts is terrible. Especially when the team is struggling, offensively. * Watching him hesitate before launching a three tells me that Idann is losing confidence in his shot. Need him shooting a lot of threes in practice. * People who were at the game (and thanks for supporting the team) must have an opinion of why GG only logged 11 minutes. Where was he sitting on the bench, near or away from the coaches? * I'll close by saying that no one was happier than I was with the hiring of TA and the way he put together a team in short order. And also with our three early signings. But just about every post that complains about our coaching seems to start with, we all know that TA is a great coach. Speaking objectively, there are concerns about our coaching. And I know about his coaching resume. I, also, remember when Jerry Welsh arrived at Iona he was a NYS HOFer.

GG was sitting right up front next to the coaches most of the game. Often Tobin would be lecturing another player who he pulled and was sitting next to Greg. Barely, if at all spoke directly. Thought it was odd. Sort of agree with your last point. Not a knock at all on him, but for me, he needs to prove himself here. Feel that way about every coach. I think he will.

We aren’t improving. That’s on the coaching staff. Wait till MAAC play, wait till Shema is back and now it’s wait until next year. Ok. Exactly what I was saying at the game Not 1 but of interaction with coaches and players. If kids are coming out for a reason someone should be talking to them, especially the freshman

Panzo..47% 3pt...33% Tretout..36%...27% Williams..36%..0-7
Three point shooting differences from last season.
Not sure how much development you can expect from 23yr old grad transfers? Would hope they at least come close to what they have proven to be at the D1 level. Brice is inexperienced, missed most of preseason workouts, clearly not ready to contribute this year.
Gordon has had a couple big games, but was suspended 1 game and benched a couple games for poor play. Like Greg posted, his interaction on the bench last night was odd. No idea what's going on there, might get a hint tomorrow depending if he still starts and how much PT.
The FR have shown signs of development.
Does Tobin have to prove himself as Iona coach? Sure he does. Confident he will.
Just my opinion, but a little too much criticism on the coaching staff. These grad transfers have been given a great opportunity at Iona. Time for them to play with more intensity and take advantage of the opportunity to end their careers on a high note

Tobin really frustrated. These upperclassmen have to get their shit together. Questions maturity Anderson knows what he is doing. If the players listen to him they will have a shot at a MAAC Title. If not, they won't.

How is it on the coaches? The players are getting many open looks and the coaches are putting them in positions to succeed, they just can’t hit simple shots or execute basic offensive plays. Put the personnel from any Cluess roster on the floor right now under Tobin and we are 3-0 in the MAAC and it is not even close IMO.

Screw “high character guys”. Get me someone who can shoot. No reason you can't get high character guys who can shoot. The guys we have can shoot. The problem seems to be when the shots aren't going in they lose their confidence and pass up open looks and they let it affect their play in other areas, like defense for example or fighting for 50-50 balls.

Good morning to all. First and foremost we, as fans need to be more positive. The criticisms that I read about our program starting with players' and coaches needs to slow down! Lets be positive with constructive comments. I have watched our program since the Coach McDermott years through where we are now. I consider myself blessed to have a college basketball program to be a part of and yes follow. Some of you might think this forum gives you the opportunity to be critical. I believe our forum manager's intent was to share thoughts and support!! Iona Guy and 1970 alo ng with some others do this in the right way. Reference the negative comments we are not in the arena when our team and coaches are going through their prep work for games. I am confident our staff prepares our team for every game. There is evidence of this, in many instances, during the games. I have only missed two games so far and from a old coaches perspective I can see this!1 Yes we make mistakes but one constant is the energy that our team exhibits. Sure I can sit in the stands and say why did we do that. Why did we take 59 shots and connect on 18?? Guess what we were in position to make these shots. I am not being critical here with our forum members just making some constructive comments to all. Not being a "I" guy I know what it takes to build a program from the ground up. Its not easy. Coach in his interview last night spoke about the lack of mental toughness with our team. That should apply to us also. When I watch teams play I watch coaches. You can see in the faces of our coaches and our players their willingness to succeed. This will come. Be patient. Happy New Year to all Coach Al
