Yes can’t win close games, I posted that earlier and this is a terrible quality to have for the Maac tournament!

Everyone has a bad day at work on occasion. However, when I or most (all?) people on this board have a bad day at work and really screw up, it’s not broadcast on TV and people aren’t talking about it on message boards and Twitter.
I’m sure that Tobin realizes he f’d this game up big time and that he will avoid a repeat.

Have to learn from this, staff and players, and move on. I’d be curious to know what we learned from this game…. Let me start by saying I’m not looking to blame the loss on anybody, least of all coach TA. However, I just listened to the post game presser and one series of comments really disturb me. Coach said several times that Quinny is a very good offensive team; that they are good or great shooters. Well today’s loss and most games this season are earmarked by the same weakness. We give up too many points on simple layups and not great shooting. It may well be the terrific pressure we put on the ball, on the perimeter, that is the problem. I’m not a coach and don’t know the answer, but we did not lose today to a great shooting team.

Brutal loss. Don’t know how the team will bounce back. As i mentioned in the chat, I’m surprised Sultan wasn’t used more often in the second half to clog up the paint. Also, the layup after layup was a byproduct of not ONE Iona player willing to take a charge!!!!! He did have three fouls so that might have been the reason. So he needed to go home with 2?

Watching on TV I noticed Oz sitting on the bench holding a couple of ice packs to his leg. And after Idan, who was having a great game, got hurt our offense came to a halt. After the game it looked to me that Idan was walking with a limp. Hope it's not serious. He always iced knees when on the bench

On a more serious note, did TA talk about Idan getting hurt? If he hadn't been injured I doubt we would have lost because Quinnipiac couldn't stop him. Tonight I'll check and see when he took his last shot.

Like a lot of coaches Tobin is wedded to his system (evidenced by his response to the question “why didn’t you consider a zone” when he responded “we do what we do” and shrugged. However, he’s a smart and talented coach. I expect he will incorporate a response in the form of some defensive wrinkles in practice.
