Just for a little bit of fresh air, having watched all the teams in the MAAC play this year, I would say that Quinnipiac is the best. Having said that, we could have and should have beaten them today on their court…

Credit to Guy, for asking the couple questions we are wondering about in this thread
Thought of changing D Oz in game late for size
Not sure I agree that it was the pressure that got Iona the lead, but rather it was Iona just red hot from three, were 12-21 at one point.
As far as Oz, I was expecting him to say he was injured after the fall he had. With the team struggling to score last 5 minutes, thought we would see Oz since he was hot from three. Oz hasn't been a rim protector this season, but thought his length could have possibly impacted some of the drives to the hoop by Qpac and especially Lewis. Quigley had zero chance defending him.
Panzo at the line for 2, with Iona down 3.the plan was make the 1st and miss the 2nd hoping for a put back to tie the game. Was shocked he had Aranguren on the block and Shema on the bench. Gotta have Oz in the game at that time.
Oh well, this loss really stings, but can't deny the team is playing well. Next up at Siena Friday night. No excuse to lose that game, Gaels could turn them over 30 times

Response to poll; Losses to SPU, Niagara, and Quinnipiac in last 2 (not 3) weeks. Quinnipiac 14-4 schedule weak that you have acknowledged. Don’t “help me,” You do need help--you didn't answer the question. Help? Iona lost 3 games in 2 weeks. Are they “better”? You answer your own question.

It took Cluess years to change some things defensively (at least in March) to start racking up the MAAC titles. Let's see if Tobin sticks to his guns when games really are must win come tournament time. Cluess finished his first year of D1 25-12 He had a wayy better team also for first year at Iona. Machado and Glover were elite MAAC players. Also, Tobins first year in D1 he beat a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Don't think they compare.

Wow-you are over the top! Go ahead!who said it was over? Just responded to your poll that asked a legitimate question but then gave your answer. Not great polling nor journalism. Reread it.

Let’s remember something about Tim’s teams, and I love Tim - no knock on him. He was recruiting jucos and transfers when it was “scandalous” to do so and most of our MAAC brethren wouldn’t do it and thought we were sleazy. As a result every year we were getting older, more experienced guys which gave us an advantage over the rest of the league. Jesus we had David Laury who was like 25 and that was before “COVID” eligibility. Every year we’d get a guy like Mike Poole or Aaron Roundtree.

However it was much easier for smaller schools like Iona to get and especially KEEP talent than it is now.

Dude. Closing in on being banned. Cut the fucking shit. Now. Are you serious? I just answered your question? About if they were better in last 3 weeks. Fine, I'll amend. 2 weeks. You know damn well I meant since the Mount game and not the St Peters game. Why the fuck would I intentionally include SPU. Now answer again.

Um. Tobin coached the biggest upset in NCAA tournament history not too long ago.I think he knows what he’s doing. Ledge life off the charts today

I Think Tobin is a good coach, think today he had a bad day. I’d like to have more experience in the assistants.
