With all due respect to you (gaelsiona) and broguy99, Iona has been full of excuses for low attendance by students for years, e,g, NFL, Winter recess, exams, being a commuter school and on and on. Basketball is a primary program at IU and should be seeing greater student attendance. Greater overall attendance was clearly in evidence with our former phony, excuse me I mean coach, including students. If we need more beer and a party atmosphere to get them (students) in Hynes, then so be it. Enough with the excuses, how about some action to get us a few loud fans in the student section.. . Hard to argue with this. I was at Iona from 04-08 and maybe the Sunday games werent packed but those Friday games were always packed with students. This was also before streaming so if you didn't go you weren't watching. 15-19 during our championship years and we only went to the Manhattan games |

That near collapse was incredibly confusing. Very bizarre stretch of play loads of fouls, completely cold, and hoarding timeouts like they carry over. Very lucky that game did not slip away. How about all the trips shooting outside with 15 seconds on the clock |

A possible explanation. With Tom Moran leaving the Athletic Dept. for a vg opportunity at Marquette, there has to be some turmoil there. Haven't heard that he's been replaced, though he might have. But it's also possible that it's still up in the air, and people are doing two jobs, with less time and effort being put into turning out fans/students.
One thing is certain, Tom will be missed.

I complained about 51 fouls being called and was reminded that in our Marist home game there were about 55 called. A long time tru-ism about officiating. "The better the crew, the fewer the fouls".
