No question about that. We have a long way to go to back to Cluess levels. So then tell us again how Pitino was successful? What does this have to do with Pitino?

Separate note. The MAAC really needs Iona and Siena to be good to keep some semblance of respectability. We are heading toward a Quinny, Niagara, Marist and SPU semifinal. Nightmare. Nightmare for who? The MAAC. I would think a QU-Niagara final would have zero juice. At least when Iona/Manhattan and Iona/Siena were relevant there was some buzz and interest in the press.

I have audio from presser last night, but not able to upload it here. So I tweeted out Tobin comments, here they are:

How in the world does Saunders hit the freshman wall when his ass is glued to the bench? Is he suffering from “riding the pine” fatigue?
I’ve been saying it all season. Even though he’s deficient on defense, his presence on the offensive end would help stretch the defense as teams would have to respect his outside shot, thus quite possibly opening up drives to the basket for our guards (easier baskets).

Just a hunch, but I'm going to guess Tobin sees something different every day in practice than you've seen in a smattering of games.

Yeah there could be more to it, but he did get in a couple of games ago and quickly was sat back down. So he’s doing something that doesn’t please Tobin, likely defense.

Well at least TA didn't complain about the coaching. So, we now know that it's the players that are the problem.

You guys are probably right regarding effort in Practice but I think at this point all options should be explored. Say you have a lineup of Brown, Jean, Panzo, Oz and Saunders. The 3 wing shooters would need to be covered and I could see Brown and Jean having easier interior looks. We don’t have any rebounders anyway, so as 70 said earlier we will need two guys to get hot and break out the rosary beads. I totally agree with Tobin’s comment about more time for Brice. At least he brings hustle and energy.

Casting my vote for POY, and it's for a guy that I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE won't win it. But he's the one player that has really impressed me this season, even if I haven't seen many of his games. And I'm talking about..........
.........Savion Lewis, who leads the MAAC is Assists and showed why, last night with 12. His court vision is great and he's fun to watch, as long as he's not playing against your team.

My issue is the adjustment I was looking for aren't there. Still not doing anything different but expecting different results. While I am not going to bash Tobin, I also don't have to kiss his ass as he certainly does head scratching things like not taking Timeouts during to break up other teams runs, pressing all game. I get you want to speed up the game, but c'mon.. nobody does that at D1. What is left to lose by playing bench guys? Lose by 30 instead of 20? He has to be a better coach but he also needs better players more suited for the way he wants to play. This team wasn't it.

To be fair, you can't change everything you do with a handful of games to go, even when you have less than what you started with. But we did not press much in the first half at all, and when we did press, it didn't work anyway. Agree re timeouts though, I don't like using them after made baskets and he did that a couple times last night. The bottom line is that Gordon leaving is what killed any hope we had left. And I suspect there is a deeper impact we don't know about yet.

My "issue" with that presser, not the 1st time this year Tobin has mentioned have to make foul shots. I mean Brown and Gordon are career 50% from the line. Both do most of their scoring driving to the hoop, and getting fouled. Pretty much lost possessions, since it's rare they knock down both. Not sure fair to expect better from them
