I'll give you Quigley, as he was our POY. JA was playing really well, but then saw his PT diminish, along with his confidence. Adewale got some starts, but only (for the most part) after Gordon left. We were told that defense was keeping Bates and Saunders tied to the bench, and also how they practiced. Brice was supposedly injured, so no PT for him. Over the years I've always heard that if you play well, you'll play. And then they see Tretout and Panzo perform, and on occasion they performed well, but even if they played like they did tonight, they still played. So that's why I think it fair to say, I don't think they got close to a fair shake. And you're certainly entitled to have a different opinion.
Sultan started multiple games early in the season too. Bates earned additional playing time and received it. We don’t observe, much less run, the team practices, so neither you nor I really know how players are performing there. I do know that, at the college level, performance in practice generally determines playing time in games.
However, as you note everyone is entitled to have their own opinion.
No chance Tretout is a good practice player, he doesn't hustle on D in games never mind practices
Tobin coached a bad game. We need a seasoned assistant to aid as a bench coach in games.
Tobin coached a great game. Undermanned team that lost it's only legitimate shooting threat. Team played together and actually were picking each other up the last 2 nights for the first time this season. Y'all are crazy. Now I'm getting pissed off like Guy. Do not understand the negativity. Tonight proved to me that Tobin is our guy.
I think you are just wildly speculating because you’re upset at how the season turned out. But hey, it’s a message board and any opinion can be posted.
No I am dead serious. We are in a full free agency. What if anything this year would inspire any of them to stay. JQ can go make $$$$ if he wants. The other guys either have to really love the staff and school or maybe the high student turn out. I dont see why they wouldnt at least put their name in the hat. You can always go back if you wish.
So based on this logic, like 75% of the MAAC will be transferring out.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.

100%. People are angry, down. Go nuts. These hot takes are awesome.

It seems like that happened last year with no all maac players coming back
It will be amusing to reread this thread next week and in July! It's unfortunate that disappointment as a fan for losing is equated with having expectations that are unrealistic. Remember, I'm a Jets fan too!

It’s more the wild overreactions of some driven by understandable disappointment.

You think the same lens is applied to a 5th year senior as to a freshman learning to play in D1?
Look at the development we saw with Bates; he went from a kid who didn’t play to 15 minutes in an elimination game.
The product didn’t meet expectations. Maybe mine are too high. Obviously with what has happened last season and last few years, it’s understandable how it has impacted this season. I also can’t judge a coach on one year. Thought he did well with what he was given/had to work with. On to next season Go Gaels
Losing Gordon was a dagger
A close second IMO was the Os injury in the scrimmage against Fordham.
A 100% Os would've averaged 4-5 blocks in the height challenged MAAC and changed the same amount of shots per game.
Playing on one leg, he was never the game changer that was expected as he simply couldn't move normally or get off the floor.
On to 24/25 but last comment to defend my posts last night. I thought Tretout and Aranguren in the second half were walking turnovers and needed to come out, and Bates was playing well. Would have used Bates more for one of them as he seemed like he had the hot hand. Brown playing with 2 fouls in the first half is not smart, and he does this regularly. Anyway I think Tobin is a good coach and the right guy to lead the program but I think he also makes some questionable moves at times and feel he could use a veteran to bounce ideas off of, or someone whisper in his ear if they may see an opportunity we should be considering.

Correct let's not lump all complaints into generalizations.
Saying Tretout shouldn't have played vs should have been taken out down the stretch are two separate things
Saying Tobin is not a good coach vs he needs to coach better at times are two separate things.
I have faith. Onto the next season.
PS - Been 14 years since Iona didn't play in a postseason tournament (none were played in '20). What a ride.
