I saw the emergency personnel assist oldtimer out of the building. I hope he is OK. It was a very bad night in many ways.

He was conscious throughout and actually didn''t want to go to the hospital, but saner heads prevailed. It didn't look like he had much use of his right arm and leg. I think they brought him to St. Vincent's in Bridgeport.

Hope OT is OK. That is really sad news.
Iona merely lost a basketball game. Coach Dunne did a masterful job in controlling the game. With Kyle down, I was looking for JJ to step up. Did not happen.
Now, I am rooting for OT, and look forward to reading his insights soon.

To repeat what someone else posted. If Iona had to lose I'm glad it was to SPC with a classy coach and team.

Completely agreee with you guys about Dunne coaching a great game. Had his guys ready for a game against Iona, and credit the players for executing his plans. However, we were outcoached and outplayed both ends. Questionable decisions by Cluess: 1)Taking the final TO when he did? Whats that about? They were having a hard time getting the ball in why call a to and give them a chance to set up an inbounds play? 2) Arod playing minimal minutes. Now I understand he isnt much of an offensive threat, and we have much better scorers but 17 mins total. Atleast he can make layups on a night where no1 could make one if their life depended on it. He also brings energy and leadership. 3) Coach also had no answer for St. Petes defense, even after the half. We also picked one hell of a night to shoot 15% from 3. While I thought he was a great kid for Iona in his four years, and its hard to see him go out like that but Dwight was awful tonight. Terrible shooting, 2-13 fg 2-6 3pt. but even worse was his decision making. He consistently made bad passes, took bad shots, losing his man on defense. Combination of things. I'm not sure I can even watch this team in a post season tournament other than the NCAA. 1) The TO was taken to early. Dunne though used his up 7 minutes prior. 2) AROD was benched and so was Pelcher. No doubt. They were not good in the minutes they played and Coach must have said that is it, I am going with a small line-up. He counted on guys for a lot of minutes that he didn't count on for the first 30+ games of the season. 3) They outplayed us, period. Ctbill was right. We had tons of missed lay-ups that killed us. AND We couldn't hit an open 3, when we did get open. Give them credit though. Let's go to the NIT!
