"I find it odd that these sites aren't updated through last night's games, despite their impact on their "bracketologies"."
Looking through the archives of each of these sites, they seem to update every 2 or 3 days around this point in the season.

Please remember, my moniker is Mr. Doom. My first look at the Omni Rating projection caused me to wonder if I was in a time warp. Unfortunately, I went to their website and checked their criteria for and explanation of selections. Here is the quote from that site regarding their NCAA Tournament Field Projections:
"The projections include NCAA fields "per current ratings." Are these the teams Omni Rankings projects will make the NCAA tournament?
No. The 68 men's basketball teams and 64 women's basketball teams are those that would qualify for their respective NCAA tournaments if the fields were determined strictly using the current Omni Rankings conference tournament projections (for automatic bids) and ratings (for at-large bids). The fields do not represent Omni Rankings' forecast of teams chosen by the NCAA selection committees. Similar for the NIT, WNIT, CIT/CBI, and WBI tourneys."

Based on what I recollect from prior years, the RPI of the last at- large bids was in the 40s or maybe 50. I think its a long shot for us this year. I know there are other factors, but I just don't see it happening.

We are a no-shot for the NCAA. Long shot might better apply to the NIT.

If attendance proves to be the determining factor then I believe the tourney will be played on campus at the highest seeded teams' gym. Schools realize what a big advantage Siena has had with the tournament being held in Albany. I guess it's possible that we'll move it to Albany as long as Siena agrees to retain Mitch as coach. JMO. NIT is not SUPPOSED to have anything to do with that stuff, it's supposed to be seeded like the NCAAs. that said, if you've got, say, Fairfield and Big State U as your 4-5 seed type teams, you know Big State U will get the 4.

That's hilarious--we're not even among one of their last 10 teams getting IN! A lock for the NCAAs! LOL.

The NIT Selection show is on at 9pm Sunday on ESPNU I will assume Iona will not be doing a "selection show party" for this. That said--I think we could have a chat session during it! Have our own party!

Does the outgoing AD have the pull to request a C game?

I am still hopeful of an NIT bid. I know I am in the minority, but I still thinks the MAAC tournament should be in Albany.

I am still hopeful of an NIT bid. I know I am in the minority, but I still thinks the MAAC tournament should be in Albany. I think the NIT is going to happen, especially if Syracuse wins the Big East, that maybe enough of a bump in the RPI. Regarding Albany, got give credit were credit is due, the hayseeds support that venue come tournament time. I thought Iona and St. Peter's brought respectible numbers last night, but there didn't appear to be any local interest with Fairfield gone.

NIT is realistic but need to see how some other leagues play out. FAU got bounced so they get NIT, if many more numner one teams lose conference tourneys, the number of spots dwindle. LIU plays RMU tonight. If RMU wins, there goes another NIT spot.
The Omni ranking was interesting but MAAC will not get two NCAA bids, at least not this year

I think the omni rankings may have been a mistake. It is not possible we wouldn't be one of last 10 in. I know an at large is not possible but a stupid thing like this will have me watching the selection show with a dream in my head of a miracle appearance of Iona's name.
However we may not even get this in the Nit show, a lot of smaller leagues still to go that could have their league winner going to NIT instead of NCAA. Need LIU and others to win, already 7 spots are taken, may be as many as 10 or 11 which may give us little chance.

This site amazes me. I looked at it harder and its no mistake, I think we are 11th team in ahead of 10 others! They have us 37th in the country and the third rated mid major. I think it has something to do with margin of victory, as we rank very high here. Also our record against 50-149 is strong.
Vegas also seemed to have us rated higher than most power ratings. Is there a chance Iona is even mentioned in the conversation? I know they start with like 80 teams. I think I am punch drunk from last night! I am in the denial or delusion phase of my grief.
