Hell yes, it helps with recruiting to say you played in the postseason. It CANNOT help recruiting to say that we WOULD have been in the postseason but we chose not to spend the money. Exactly. Nor should college admissions boast about participating in x amount of D1 sports programs. If you're a D1 member, you participate like a D1 member. You don't do things half-assed... makes the college look pitiful and yes, that does hurt recruiting.

Smyth being hurt could give NIT a reason to push us on the other side of the bubble. I think if they don't consider 2 players on the same team at the top of D1 categories then Smyth playing or not is really not the issue. We lost to Bryant. Had we exited Cleveland 2-1 none of this would be an issue.

Would be helpful to know the reason we did not participate last year. The only thing that's changed in the equation is the coach.

Right. So Iona need only play 1 more guarantee game than they'd normally plan on to cover that. And of course you get the bonus of putting our top 100 team against a bigger school, thus getting a quality RPI game. Win-win.

I thought after all the "scheduling service" costs is was more like $347.00? ;D
