Hi all,
(With a little help from OT's son TJ.)
OT here and slowly getting back in the saddle. Still at United Hebrew rehab in New Ro ... getting stronger and more active each day. The staff here has been caring and helpful, each professional and patient. I'm eating three meals a day now ... including some sweet-tooth goodies. The rehab therapist girls are working me hard each morning, and in the past week I've begun to take my first few "new" steps down the hallway. Gaining more mobility with my "bad" right side ... not too bad, actually, though ... moving arm and leg more each day. I'm not sure exactly when, but my family and I are hopeful to get me home-home perhaps sometime mid- to late-summer.
(TJ writes ... the old man is still as sharp as a whip mentally. Complains about all of the other "old folks" down the hall, but avoids any mirrors nearby! Go figure! He's speech is good ... 99% back to normal.)
On to b-ball ...
My son read me the posts about Mo Mo and other hopefull recruits yesterday. According to my mental tally, it looks like the team will have 25 or 30 players next year !!! Well, not really ... but maybe we should have the team buy an extra bench or two!
My expectations are high for next season. The key will be a good start to the first few games. Momentum kicks in from there.
I received many get-well cards at home, along with posts, emails, etc. My most sincere thanks to you all for your warm and heartfelt well wishes. It's help me through this difficult challenge more than you know, and has brought a smile to my face during the occassional lonesome periods here at rehab when I'm not surrounded by visiting family members and friends.
Wishing all of you a thouhtful and reflective Memorial Day. Freedom has always come at a great cost, and we should all be forever thankful for those who have bravely answered the call to duty in this great country.
Catch up with you again soon ...
OT ... still kickin'!
