Gaels open as an 8.5 favorite. Let's hope the guys are rested and had some real good practices since they didn't have to jump right back on a plane once they got home from W&M.
BTW, anyone notice the "buzzer-beater" made by Scott at the end of the first half of that game?

Wow, I got the open wrong. When I saw the spread at minus 8.5 I thought it was the open, since it was so early. The open was minus 6.5. Quick jump to minus 8.5. Current is Gaels minus 9.

Wow, that was just a putrid half of basketball. Don't know if it is rust, or that they are just too amped up for this game. Hofstra with some great intensity. Iona with some really poor game management decisions. Doesn't help that everytime an Iona player makes a move to the basket, he is called for a charge. I think maybe half of those were legit. Seems there are two fouls on everybody.

Couldn't recover from that absolutely miserable first half. Worst game by Scott, by far, in a long time. Looked like we were rusty and to me it looked like we just were too wound up to play this game. Guys simply were rushing and forcing a lot. Maybe that was because of Hofstra's intensity. Shame, they had a chance to make some noise locally. They have to learn to play within themselves in games where they are amped up. Hope they get their act together and play quick, but not in a hurry.

Although we tried in the second half, we could not overcome the ass kicking we took in the last 10 minutes of the first half. Time to re-focus and play up to our potential. Forget about "at-large" talk and take each game as it comes, especially the ones in Springfield.
Go Gaels!!!

This team has a lot to learn what last year's team didn't - play 40 minutes every night which includes 40 minutes of defense. No excuses - win the MAAC! We're not as deep as I thought going into the season. Terrible game. No excuse.

Yeah, no chance for an at large now, unless we beat Kentucky in the bracket busters.
We go as Scott goes, and tonight Scott wasn't himself. Especially in the first half.
