I'm still guessing the only post season anyone will see at Iona is the games being watched on TV's on campus.... lol This may be a reality many here need to come to terms with! The realization is that while the NCAA and NIT invites are accomplishment based, the CIT and CBI invites are more about money and connections. The CIT seems in a real rush to invite over 100 RPI achools while many sub 100 RPI teams hang in the balance. Why a rush to sign 3rd place Rider, with one starter undergoing surgery and another starter hobbled, when the 2nd place team is still available. I think we learned from last year that the Gazelle Group's main criteria for CBI invitation is their client list not matter how poor their year was.

16 slots left between the 2 tournaments. Our chances of an invite are slipping away. Last year was a surprise and most of us were shocked when we did not go. This year, I am expecting not to go, and I am mad and pissed off. If this happens, Iona basketball is Division 1 only on the court.

So much for RPI. Seems to me you're better off bolstering your record if we come up with a goose egg.
And once again, let's thank Willy for the Cleveland tourney to start the year.... lol
Better off sending your kids to a nice warm spot. Let them enjoy themselves.

And now for a little more pain. This NIT Bracketology site has been updated since this morning with the 3 last in - Dayton, Northwestern and Nebraska. Dayton (RPI 67) no problem (though their RPI might drop a couple after loss to Richmond). Iona (RPI 70) still on the outside with Northwestern (RPI 87) and Nebraska (RPI 89) both in. tcaa.puretecmo.com/

East Carolina, 18-15, RPI 121, home game. Iona, looks like no game. Unless the school knows something about a NIT bid that the rest of us do not see, how can this be happening again??

Looking like we're in the "CRAP" tournament, Colleges with Really Apathetic Programs.

So True! You know we will never hear the real reason why this is happening again. You can't run a business like this, your customers will go over to the competition if you do. I guess Iona believes alumni will always remain loyal. Not so sure about that. Please prove me wrong!!!!!!!!!!

I think what's a little sad is the this team did what it needed to do rpi wise to get into the NIT. If we had an rpi of let's say 100 I'd be less pressing about a c tourney. It's one thing to be overlooked by the nit. It's another to be overlooked by your program!

Both VCU and Georgia were considered as in NIT - NOPE! Both make NCAA.
